We have stayed at this location a few times before and in Jan. 2012 they've add the Galena Gold Card. An identification card given to you upon registration good for discounts in the area for your length of stay. Upon presenting it at a few locations, it was immediately recognized and our discount was applied. A nice bonus to a great hotel with a few extras: real dishes and silverware at a better than average complimentary breakfast, and if you stay during mid-week, a pot of soup or chili is available to guests mid-day!

We stayed one night in a suite with a whirlpool and fireplace. I was surprised by the modern and well decorated feel of this hotel. We were a little concerned that there would be lots of little kids and noise because of the waterpark in the middle of the location. Since we were on the top floor and toward the end, we couldn't hear a thing.
The main reason that I am not giving a perfect rating is due to the dining experience. Hot food was not quite hot, there is no ice in the dining room and they were only using one waffle maker while we were there, which caused us to have to eat one at a time.
Overall, it was a lovely experience and we will be back to give it another try soon!

My kids loved the waterslide! For the price we paid this place was pretty good.

Our weekend stay made us feel very comfortable and welcomed at the Galena, Il Country Inn. The staff was very pleasant all the time and I believe it's because of the leadership there. The Front Desk Manager, Jessica, always has a smile and she talks to you like your her friend. The other associates also treated us the same way. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back to Galena soon and will stay at the Country Inn Suites.
