This is one of the best Worldmark properties by far and I've been to numerous Worldmark's. There are activities in every direction and it's a great place just to stay and relax. The rooms, the lodge area, the indoor pool, the workout room etc. are all in excellent condition and the staff is awesome! Also there's a jacuzzi in every room!

We were very excited to see a beautiful room for our "no kids" weekend! the Area was breathtaking! We visited the first weekend in May 2010. The staff was very helpful and the room was fully furnished with even spices, dishsoap, two loads of laundry soap and bathroom amenities! the pool was very refreshing and a giant waterfall cascaded down the stone wall which made an inviting area! The game room was very large and the fitness area was just enough for away from home workouts! Although it was a drive to downtown main street Galena, it was very beautiful countryside and we were able to see what was outside of main street: the Irish bar was a plus! we also visited the Ryan Mansion, took a trolley historic tour (johnny was our guide, he was fabulous). Wild Clover Spa was a treat for our couples massage: 1st time for my husband and he was very impressed! Fried Green Tomatos restaurant is a must! as well as Galena Garlic Co., and the Kleis Bakery for fresh cinnamon rolls for our breakfast.

We woke up on Saturday morning to about 3inches of snow the scenery from our balcony was "Just Beautiful" my husband said. The sights from the top of the ridge are great to see, walk around the building for the different views and watch for the wildlife that you might see.
We booked into a one bedroom unit, this was a king size bed. In the bedroom we had a tv with remote, fireplace with remote, patio doors that opened onto our deck furnished with a table and chairs. The bathroom had a 2 person jacuzzy, full shower, and a large vanity with one sink. Full kitchen with everything that you could want to start out a home. The laundry room was fully epuiped with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board, and for those little messes, a broom and vaccum. The living/diningroom had a tv, stereo and fireplace all of them with remotes, a murphy bed, and full dinette set. It was tastefully decorated and all of it was clean. We have stayed here several times and not once have we ever been disapointed. We have had the smaller unit and we have had the larger units also with the same results. The staff here is always friendly and very helpful. Some of them have even come to recognize us from previous stays. It feels like coming home when we walk in the door here. We are going to be there this weekend for a little getaway for our anniversary.

Worldmark Galena, IL is a nice property with a temperate pool, whirlpool, sauna and a workout room. It's not close to any restaurants except one for dinner. We had a studio room with a small but useful kitchenette, nicely supplied with items needed to make meals. The studios have Murphy beds. We came away with bed bug bites, room 1222, and reported it to management after we got home. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Nearby at Eagle Ridge one can enjoy hot air balloon rides, year round. Well worth the experience with a seasoned pilot and lovely countryside. Galena itself has tiers of streets lined with dozens of historic homes and buildings. The main street boasts many blocks of shops and restaurants. Iowa and Wisconsin are near enough to drive. Mississippi River boat rides leave from Dubuque. The area has winter skiing, golf, antique shops, and many other things to do.
