If you've never been to NW Illinois, specifically The Galenta Territory, you're missing out. It's the rolling-hill countryside in France or Italy. Gorgeous!

The spot to stay is the Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. The lobby has a real log cabin feel, smells like pine or campfire, the rooms are serene and the surroundings are all nature.

Golf if you wish, hike trails, ride horses. Nice ski resort-type bar and good food.

If you're looking for a beautiful resort with tons of amenities that is family friendly yet can be romantic too, look no further. Eagle Ridge resort has it all and it's just minutes away from the downtown Galena area with great shopping, restaurants and lots of history! The staff is friendly and very customer service oriented. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean! Don't forget to check out the lounge with live music or one of the fabulous restaurants in the hotel....You won't be disappointed!

I loved the whole experience! Top notch golfing,great fishing!casino and dog racing a few mile away,food services are excellent! I can't wait to return this spring.

I can't say enough about our family vacation at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. This is a great place to go and stay at if you want to have fun as a family. We stayed in a 1 bedroom, 2 bath townhouse that was very clean and up to date. As a family there were many fun things to do just on the resort. We went up there for Thanksgiving and they had the resort already decorated for Christmas which was very nice as we found many beautiful spots to take Christmas pictures as a family for our Christmas cards this year. My kids especially loved the original and unique gingerbread house that was made with real cookies and candy. Santa made his appearance to the resort as well and we enjoyed having breakfast with him in the ballroom and the food was just exceptionally delicious. We also ate at the Thanksgiving dinner buffet they had and the food was delicious as well and they offered a huge variety of choices to choose from.
Other activities they had at the resort were the indoor pool that my kids enjoyed swimming at and they even offered movie night at the pool which was a lot of fun. We also took our kids horseback riding which they enjoyed so much and the staff there was very nice to us and made sure the kids were safe at all times. We also enjoyed walking on the walking trails they have on the resort which are very scenic and you can enjoy the wildlife they have there.
If you are looking for a nice resort to stay at while you are in Galena I would highly recommend Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa. It is a very clean, warm and inviting resort that is well suited for families or couples. Whether you are into golf, hiking, swimming, bird watching, fishing, horseback riding, a relaxing day at the spa or hot air balloons this is the place to stay at. We ate at most of the restaurants they had on the resorts and the food was great at every location. You won't be disappointed with this resort as I am very picky as to where I stay and this meet up to all my standards.
