“This is one B&B that God would have stayed at!”

This was our 6th time back to Pine Hollow and in the 17 years my wife Patty and I have gone to B&B's this is the BEST AND MOST FUN ONE OF ALL! The Hosts Larry and Sally are the BEST! Over 100 acres of land to enjoy the birds, bees, deer and other animals all day long. There is no other B&B in Galeana I would ever stay at as this is the BEST! We met people that like our selfs have been coming to year after year. If this B&B ever closes I do not know what I will do for a B&B in Galena! I give it 10 STARS any time!

“Relaxing, Romantice & Beautiful!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2009

This is our 3rd time staying at the Pine Hollow Inn. The owners are very special people. They remembered us from the 2nd time we had stayed at the Inn in 1997. The breakfasts were marvelous...egg souffle, cinnamon rolls, cranberry and blueberry muffins, stuffed french toast. It's definitely more than a continental breakfast. The rooms are very nicely decorated and very "homey". The whirlpool bath and fireplaces are soooo nice! We had a private patio outside of our room where we sat & enjoyed nature while sipping a glass of wine. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed, you can't help but feel comfortable. We plan on going again with our friends for a long weekend this fall sometime before the snow flies. It's just so nice to drive a short distance out of town and be able to enjoy the quiet and the beauty that surrounds Pine Hollow Inn.

“Highly recommended by friend; had different experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2009

A friend and her husband had stayed here last year and raved about it. But my husband and I weren't as impressed. I'm not Martha Stewart, but even I know you're supposed to wash sheets and towels in hot water. Pine Hollow doesn't and you can tell. Bed too soft and squeaked. Brought a bowl of fruit to my husband from the kitchen and rim was covered in dust. Opened a closet to unfinished raw lumber shelves and trash on floor. Also a little disappointed by the bathroom fixtures and tub; not antique, just 1970s style. Highlight was in-room massages! Luckily we stayed on more private second floor. Little soundproofing. First floor rooms hug the dining area a bit too closely. While other B&Bs offer up creative breakfasts, the ones here are real yawners. Won't be back anytime soon

“A wonderful getaway from the world of chaos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2009

I stayed at the Pine Hollow Inn as a solo traveler needing a getaway from the world for a weekend. A couple hour drive from Chicago to the Inn and you are transported to another world. The rooms are a santuary and the casualness of the "check in" is more like coming home. After spending a day in town, I came back to my welcoming room and with a glass of wine and book sat out on the front porch watching humming birds, listetning to nature, watching the sunset and feeling as though there was no place but here. Thank goodness for no TVs in the rooms! It made me enjoy the place I was looking for and to crack open a long awaited book needing to be read. The next morning I enjoy a wonderful homemade breakfast and had stimulating conversation with the other guests of the Inn. Surprisingly 2 others were traveling on their own as well. This is obviously not a secret to those who just need to "escape".

Well worth the trip and the Inn is everything it claims to be. Just like coming home - but not!

“Romantic Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2008

My husband and I went to the Pine Hollow Inn for our wedding annivesary. It was wonderful. It is a very lovely and inviting home. We chose one of the downstairs bedrooms and were very pleased with our choice.
The owner was very helpful in suggesting restaurants in town. It is located just outside of Galena so you can feel like you are really out in the country. Although we didn't venture onto the property, it was beautiful.
We would highly recommend this B&B and would go back again.
