Stayed one night after a wedding. Place was practically empty. All employees were very nice, although the breakfast "hostess" did spend a little too much time loudly "bantering" with the older maintanence gentleman. It got to the point where it wasn't clear if they were having fun or really arguing. But, on the flip side, she was attentive and knew one guest by name. We love Hampton Inn cuz you know exactly what you are going to get. This one could use some updating, but for $90 a night, it's perfect.

The staff were friendly and the pool looked nice. Everything seemed to be up to date. Room was quite and clean. There a mall next door and lots of places to eat. I have just two complaints: the sheets didn't fit the bed and slipped off during the night, and I didn't like the hot breakfast selections - which usually ran out by 9 am (weekend), although breakfast was open until 10 am. We travel to Decatur every couple of years to visit family. There are similar hotels in the immediate area, so go for the best rate.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Decatur at the end of June 2010, and I wish I would have booked us at the hotel next door instead. We were only there for one night, but I am now having sinus issues from the mildew and mold in the carpets at the hotel. The third floor where our room was located smelled just awful, and the carpets were damp in our hot, humid room. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, and I doubt we would have if we had time. The smell of the hotel was too pungent to want to swim in the pool area.

One positive about this hotel was the free wireless internet and the free breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was phenomenal.

This Hampton was not one of the nicer facilities we've stayed in. Everything in the room was clean, but the bathroom was tiny, and the lamps, tv and other furniture were showing some age/wear. The employee running the front desk was doing double duty trying to maintain the breakfast area and many of the food items and cups were not re-stocked. The counters and tables were not cleaned. Also stood at the desk for several minutes at check-in before an employee emerged from the back office to help me. This is not typical of service we've experienced at other Hampton Inns.
