“Not sure what all the bad reviews are about....”

We booked this property for a park stay and fly from O'hare because of the great deal. I almost cancelled after reading some reviews, but got too busy before our trip. I'm so glad I didn't! First impression - the lobby is beautiful - maybe recently remodeled? The staff was very friendly. The halls and rooms were older, but still clean. The parking for our car was in the front lot - well lit - probably the most secure we've ever had for a park & fly. Breakfast started at 6 in the morning, so we missed it, but there is a Subway next door. We got a couple of breakfast sandwiches the night before and used the microwave in the lobby to warm them up before leaving in the morning. The shuttle service was nice. We called as soon as we picked up our bags on our return trip and they were there in 15 minutes. I would certainly use this property for a park & fly again!

“A near death experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

To start We were given the wrong room key by accident and opened the door to a drunk guy yelling profanities at us. Then walked into a typical flea bag motel. I would have rather camped outside in tge parking lot. Besides the creepy horror film motif, the cleanliness was absolutely ridiculous. The shuttle service takes f o r e v e r as well. I wish i would have read the reviews before staying here. Never again.

“This is the Worst Place Ever!!! Don't stay here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

As a travel agent I had the worst time ever. Poor customer service, poor rooms, poor everything. This was suppose to be a fun trip for me and my girlfriend. We came to town to go to a wedding that we never got to. Why?? Because their parking lot flooded & ruined about 4 cars in the parking lot including my friends. And they did not want to take any responsibility. Her car is totaled, we never made it to the wedding and the hotel manager and GM could care less. The hotel did not notify any guests that their car was under water, nor did they take preventative measures to close off that section of the parking lot.

The management staff is very unprofessional and discourteous. They have no business sense, or savvy. This hotel should be shut down. If you don't want to deal with drama and headaches, I say stay far away from this hotel. As a travel agent I will warn every person that I can about this place.

If anyone has any information on the owner of this property, I would appreciate the info as the hotel is giving us a run around.

Room Tip: Rooms were dirty, mold in the bathroom, the carpet felt damp and the bed was lumpy.

“Room was filthy! Terrible location, too.”

My flight was canceled and I received a voucher from United to stay here. Not only was I surprised that it was actually very far from O'Hare (considering the Ramada incorporates it into their name), there were no conveniences within walking distance other than a Subway restaurant. The lobby/breakfast area was still donning Christmas decorations, despite the fact the holiday season ended 6 months ago. My room was filthy -- my bed linens were threadbare, stained and covered in hair, there was no mattress pad on the bed and the room hadn't been vacuumed (I stepped in someone's old nail clippings). Surprisingly, I had an amazingly fast wi-fi connection. Thanks to reading previous reviews here, I avoided the shuttle service and opted for a $19 flat fee cab back to O'Hare first thing in the morning.

“Horrible Shuttle Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

Our group stayed in 3 rooms at the Ramada in their Park & Fly overnite pkg. Shuttle to the airport was fine, however, upon our return, we waited THREE HOURS for a shuttle to pick us up. We kept calling the hotel front desk and they kept assuring us it was on its way until finally they UNPLUGGED the phone and wouldn't take our calls anymore. We know they did this because when we finally got back to the hotel (after being crammed into a 12 passenger van that already had 9 people in it and we had 6 in our party), 4 of us began calling the front desk again as we waited in line to register our complaint, when I said, "gee isn't that funny....4 of us calling the phone here and it's ringing on our end, but not one line is ringing at the front desk." At which point my boyfriend watched the front desk receptionist plug back in the phone and it immediately began ringing again. Upon speaking with the manager over the course of the next MONTH, to which we continually had to keep calling them back to let them know we were not going to let this rest, she informed us that they feel that the shuttle is a courtesy, and not part of staying at their hotel (which I think is ludicrous when you advertise that you're selling a park & fly package). Their final word, sorry, but it's just too bad for you. So be FOREWARNED. And since I started investigating this hotel, I'm finding more and more people saying the same things (non-existent shuttle service).
