We were greeted upon entering immediately. We were asked what floor we prefered. Our room was very clean and a very nice size.There is a micro, refrigerator, and a good size television. There is not a fan in the bathroom and lighting is only over head and not very bright for putting on make-up. The sleeping pillows on the bed are folded into squares so you have to undo them and punch them dow if you prefer a flatter pillow-not a problem just a heads up. The coimforter is "silky" and kept slidding off the bed at night. That was trying. When we returned at night the front desk person was on the phone (business call) did not look up to say anything- it was o.k. but it was Christmas eve- a smile maybe?. They do serve (self) a nice warm breakfast that day was scrambled eggs (not runny) potatoes with sausage, make your own waffles with 2 different batters. Fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal juice etc. Overall a very nice place to stay for the $$

I've stayed at the comfort suites in Elgin many times over the last 3 years, maybe 8 or more times, I've lost count. I've also stayed at several others in this area but this is the one I like the most. The rooms are nice size, either one or two beds and a sofa bed, desk, fridge, microwave, basic "suite" amenities. The hotel is fairly new which helps with appearance, etc. They have a good free breakfast every morning, basic stuff with something hot like eggs, sausage, usually changes day to day and the waffle maker. They also have free happy hour drinks and food during the week, weekends only free breakfast. The pool isn't huge but it's big enough for kids to play and they have some work out equipment in the room next to the pool. There are several restaurants and bars and even a very busy club (Tilted Kilt, I think that's the name) within walking distance in the same complex. The front desk is always helpful and there's free internet in all rooms, WiFi and wired as well as a computer and printer in the lobby which helps when it comes to printing boarding passes. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to stay in the area of Elgin and Algonquin IL. This is about 50 miles from downtown Chicago which is about an hour drive, O'Hare is about 30 mins away. .

My husband stayed here for three nights on a business trip. We called the hotel after he had bites all over his arm and back, but after checking, they claimed to have no bugs in the sleeping area. It may have been something else, but they didn't even offer any kind of coupon or compensation for the possible scare and huge inconvenience it was to wash or quarantine everything of his for safe measure!

The Comfort Suites in Elgin is a new hotel (2-3 years old). This is the first time I have stayed at a Comfort Suites and I have to say is that I was impressed. Now it is clear that the hotel is not the Ritz, but is a very nice business hotel with very nice staff and big rooms. I was surprised as to how big of a room you get with a microwave, couch / sitting area and a fairly good size LCD TV with a good selection of free channels. Wireless is free and free breakfast. The breakfast is not the best, but if you are looking for a quick cup of coffee or some cereal, it works just fine. For the money this hotel is very hard to beat.
