Spent the night in Effingham on purpose so we could enjoy a wonderful local restaurant for dinner. Was looking for a place less expensive then The Hampton Inn but with comfortably sized rooms, Free WiFi, decent breakfast, and a good price. As a Choice Privileges member I am quite familiar with the Comfort Suites Brand so I figured this place would fit my criteria for a one night stay. I rate it an A- in the aftermath.

Everything was perfect except the WiFi was NOT what I wold call "high speed" and was NOT reliable, routinely dropping my connection. This is unfortunate as one of my fellow travelers needed to take an important meeting online before dinner. That turned into a disaster involving three separate efforts to log-in and remain logged-in. The computer in the "business center" was no better. Had it not been for that glitch the rating would have been 100%.

We did speak to the clerk at the desk who gave us all the suggestions we had already tried and then was out of ideas or advice.

If you don't need reliable High Speed WiFi - there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Comfort Suites in Effingham, IL. Good value for the money, friendly staff, good food in the morning. The King room with sofabed was spacious and comfortable.

When in Effingham be sure to check out the Firefly Grill for dinner. Worth the stop-over!

Booked a room with a king bed and 2-person whirlpool, at a good rate (a little more than the Comfort Inn, but less than the Hampton). It was a clean, comfortable room, with the whirlpool in the room. Separate shower in the bathroom. Comfy bed & lots of pillows.

Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Would choose this property again.

Room was clean, desk people were very nice, room was quiet even tho motel was filled with people from a wedding, breakfast was well stocked. Motel is next door to a restaurant with great pie and low prices, Niebergs.
