Do not stay here, was given room 119, filthy, & smells like pee!!! Please insist on seeing room before checking in. I would never stay here again. Carpet is so dirty, walking across it getsyour soles dirty!

Pros: spacious rooms, newer towels, four bedpillows, super-nice staff, next to Niemergs

Cons: cost, indoor pool only, busy, poorly lit small back parking area

I stay here every two or three months for work in the area. Room is nice the price is a little much but it is what it is. My ac in my room is really loud but it drowned out the people who slam their doors when leaving their room. Stay on the front part of the hotel trains come through all times of night.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites Effingham for a family reunion. We started coming to this hotel in 2002 and have returned ever sense. We usually rent the board room as it is given to us for free as we book so many rooms. The pool area is very nice. Good for a family like us. The front desk clerks are usually friendly and do their job well. The rooms are decent. They do have a strange odor though (kind-of moldy). Breakfast is free in the morning. Waffles, Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, Cereal, etc.

Overall the hotel was good for what we use it for. If you stay here be sure to eat at Neimergs Steakhouse right next door!!!
