As a previous reviewer said, this is a great road trip hotel. We booked through bringfido.com, which is a website that lists pet-friendly properties all over the country.
When I called to ask some questions regarding booking and check-in, I spoke with Tracy. She was very kind and helpful!
We arrived around 12:30 or 1:00am and had a very easy check-in process. Peggy had all of my information ready, and the whole process took just a minute or two.
We found a parking spot easily, but I think it was literally the last one in the lot.
Our room was on the downstairs floor. There was some sort of appliance plugged in and sitting in the hallway. Maybe a dehumidifier? My fiance thinks it was that or a space heater. It was a little humid, so it may have been the former.
The keys I was given didn't work when we got to the room. Not a huge deal--It was a quick walk back to the front desk, but we were holding our bags and trying to keep our dog still and quiet; it would have been nice to go in right away!
Our room was cozy. There was some definite water damage -or some sort of unsightly damage- along the floor next to the outer wall.
I got a great night's sleep! The air conditioner gave us a nice white noise, and I didn't hear one other traveler the whole night--I can't say the same thing about some more expensive hotels! The sheets were *so* soft and clean, and the pillows were great. If it weren't for my pup needing an early morning potty break, I would have slept well into the morning!
The bathroom was clean, and bigger than I expected--not large, but not at all cramped. It had a great shower!
We didn't catch breakfast, but it looked like it would have filled us up enough for the morning drive.
We will definitely book again when passing through Effingham!
Room Tip: The parking lot is only on one side (If facing the front desk, it's on your right.), so request...
