I read the reviews and was happy with the price so I
reserved a room for my elderly 87 yr old handicapped
mother and myself for May 21, 2011. After arriving, I noticed
that the carpet in room # 115 was grossly filthy and the grout in
the bathroom needed some serious cleaning. If I was traveling
alone I would of refused the room & traveled on, but my mother
was very tired, in pain, and needed to lay down ASAP. I had to accept the room,
like it or not. That motel owner should of been embarrassed to rent
a room in such a filthy condition.Thank goodness I had packed my flip flops
to wear. I can't give an opinion on the comfort of the beds because I
own a memory foam mattress, so all motel mattress' are too firm for
my taste. I've stayed at many Motel 6 and this one was by far the worse.
Not only was the carpet absolutely filthy, but the room didn't have a frig
or micro. There also wasn't a computer in the lobby to use. The Motel 6 that we
recently stayed at in Cloverdale, Ind was a 5 Star motel compared to this
Motel 6 in Effingham, Il. for about the same price. Check out the pics of the
filthy carpet and decide for yourself.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I rested well. No frills, but no frills are needed when you're just passing through fir the night.

I was traveling back and forth to Memphis from Ohio, this exit seemed to be in the middle. We stayed on the way there, and on the way back. If you just need a place to sleep and a shower, it suffices. They have a Denny's right next door that you can walk to and get breakfast before heading back out on the road. The staff seemed to be family, and were very friendly.

The motel was clean and large room. Close to walmart and other shops. Nice for overnight stay when taking a long drive.
