A bit hard to find the actual entrance to the hotel parking lot. It's on Butterfield.....watch for the postage-stamp sized sign. Check-in and check-out were seamless....with a friendly staff. Older building....feels kind of like a '70's college dormitory. Room was adequate. Room (2 double beds) & bathroom were clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet. There was some permanent discoloration in the tub, and permastains on the bathroom ceiling (?). Paint was peeling on the back of the bathroom door at the floor level. Breakfast was adequate...cereal, english muffins, bagels, waffles..between 8am and 10am when they closed, the only fruit left was some dicey-looking oranges. Rate was WAY cheap, though...$55 for a Thursday night! As long as it's clean, I can live with a bit of tatter and a skimpy breakfast for that kind of rate within one hour of downtown Chicago. A really deep scrubbing and a couple weeks of a handyman would do wonders here, but I got the sense that Comfort Inns were running this one on skinny margins.
