This hotel was much nicer than we expected. Not the typical Quality Inn. Fairly new, very clean, rooms were quiet, breakfast was well stocked and very fresh; front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The only minor comment is that the heating/cooling system was difficult to control. If we turned the temperature up even one degree, the AC went off and the heat came on--totally unnecessary in August. We'll stay here or recommend this hotel.

We were traveling to Dixon for a family reunion and had originally book a king room for the two of us. Our travel plans changed and our son went with us at the last minute. When we checked in they were booked but they were able to switch some other reservations around to give us the 2 double bed. The location is good, hotel is clean, pool and workout room were great and the breakfast was very good as well.
We had several others with our reunion that stayed here and all were happy.

We were totally not prepared- these rooms are SMALL! Not just small- miniscule! We'd booked a "suite"- I've stayed in rooms larger than this entire suite... The coffee table in front of the sofa had to be moved, of course, to open the sofabed. But there was nowhere to move it to! We wound up carrying it into the bedroom and turning it on it's side against the wall every night, and then moving it back in the morning. What a pain...

Other negatives-
1) We booked a non-smoking room, but it was down a smoking corridor?! We had to walk thru smoke every time we went in/out of the room.
2) The heating/air conditioner unit is located in a locked closet, and leaked- we had to keep walking thru a puddle on that side of the room!
3) There was supposed to be TV and DVD players in both rooms, but there was not. Adults wound up watching kids movies, which we had looked forward to NOT having to do. :-(

There are a few things going for this hotel-
1) The pool was fabulous- the slide totally makes this area a plus. The kids loved it- said it was their favorite pool on vacation, ever.
2) The breakfast was very good, nice selection...
3) Staff was very nice. (Though unresponsive to my issues listed above.)

Would I recommend it?
Well, the pool made it fantastic for the kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for families as the rooms are so small! Yes- IF you are a small family... Or can book additional rooms. Our group of 2 adults and 3 kids (aged 12, 10, 8) was way cramped...
And honestly? It's not like there is a better choice in Dixon! So- it's a reluctant yes...
