Typical Courtyard hotel. Clean rooms, standard layout, nice lobby, good breakfast buffet, and very friendly service.

During my stay, there was major road construction right outside the hotel. However, the hotel had very clearly marked entrance and exit signs to direct traffic. Other than typical construction traffic delays, there were no problems at all with this minor detail.

I would choose to stay here again if in the area.

Hotel was clean. Check in smooth. Halls a bit noisy with teenagers in the early morning. A good experience and we would stay there again

I chose the Deerfield Courtyard because all the other hotels were sold out closer to Northwestern University. We were going to the Michigan Football Game on Oct 8, 2011. The distance to Ryan Field was just a short drive of about 15 minutes. That was fine. However, after driving six hours to reach the hotel from Michigan, the only road construction we hit was 1.5 miles away from the hotel. That 1.5 miles took us a half hour to get through. The front entrance was blocked and we weren't sure where to enter the hotel. In addition, at 7AM on Saturday morning we were woken by jackhammers that sounded like they were right outside our window. The hotel did move us to another room on the other side of the building. I don't know why they didn't do that in the first place. They did however give us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel earlier this summer for a "Prairie Home Companion" performance at nearby Ravinia and were very pleased. Because our arrival was delayed by road construction further west, we checked in closer to the starting time of the performance than we would have liked. We had planned to use the hotel's complimentary shuttle to get to Ravinia, and we were not disappointed: When the main route to the festival grounds was choked by backed-up traffic, the shuttle driver used an alternative route and got us to the gate in just a few minutes, enabling us to arrive in time. Bravo! He also showed us where to meet the shuttle when we were ready to be picked up. While we did have to wait for a while when we called for the shuttle afterward, this was a small price to pay for the driver's local road knowledge, which saved the day for us.

The hotel room was very comfortable and attractive, and we enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant the next morning.

Overall, this Courtyard was a great choice for our Ravinia getaway.
