On top of that, we had a large group checking in and some confusion with exact names and some members of our group were not allowed to check in and we had to pay for their rooms anyway. The desk clerk referenced "airline security" as if checking into a hotel room is any comparison. They also refused to take a credit card number over the phone. In Decatur both the Country Inn and Suites and the Ramada are good options for the price - stay away from the Days Inn.

I stayed with my daughter this last weekend for her visit to Millikin. I actually thought the hotel was scary and my daughter's comment was "Mom do you think the car will be there in the morning?"

The property was old with threadbare carpet and I think furnishings were older than my daughter.

Although the clerk was nice, he was on a first name basis with customers which led me to believe that people were staying in the hotel for weeks at a time. We also saw someone walking down the hall carrying their laundry.

Although the hotel was only given two stars to begin with, the Wyndham Web (Days Inn is a Wyndham property)site had pictures that were very deceiving.

We had two rooms, each with one queen bed. The rooms were clean, staff worked hard to ensure we got into non-smoking rooms. Minutes after check-in I noticed our toilet was not working. Within 5 minutes of telling the front desk it was fixed. Free continental breakfast of donuts, rolls, coffee and juice. Hotel staff even went out for more pastries after realizing they were running low. This was not a wonderful hotel, but for the price I thought the staff were incredible.
