I stayed here when my reservation at another motel was messed up, and I was offered a smoking room after reserving a non-smoking room. All rooms in Decatur and Mt Zion were booked, and this was the only nearby hotel with available rooms. It is owned by the Patels, and was definitely no frills (e.g., no vanity in the bathroom, just the sink) BUT the room was very large and clean. With the AAA discount, it was very affordable. I had a king room with mini fridge and microwave for about $50. If you want an affordable room, this is a good choice. I left before breakfast was available so I can't comment on that. The high-speed Internet was very good. There is no pool or restaurant on-site.

smelly, dirty, antique lighting, had been "surface cleaned" but underlying dirt; clerks helpful

Upon checking in the smoke in the lobby was so bad I almost left, but had prepaid and had a granddaughter's graduation to attend. This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in, it is dirty, smelly, and scarey. I didn't feel safe and would never ever stay there again. The price was right, but obviously you get what you pay for-the savings was not worth it.

...it would smell like the lobby of this Days Inn. On top of that, we had a large group checking in and some confusion with exact names and some members of our group were not allowed to check in and we had to pay for their rooms anyway. The desk clerk referenced "airline security" as if checking into a hotel room is any comparison. They also refused to take a credit card number over the phone. In Decatur both the Country Inn and Suites and the Ramada are good options for the price - stay away from the Days Inn.
