This is absolutely the worst hotel I've had the misfortune of booking. I was in this city on a job interview and I just wanted a decent (e.g. clean) place to stay. Being unemployed, I needed a cheap room. I wasn't looking for much. When I arrived, the clerk was friendly and gave me directions to my room. This was the only positive part of the stay. I went directly to bed upon arrival. I had trouble getting to sleep because I kept feeling a crawling sensation. Around 1 a.m., I awoke to see a cockroach crawling toward my bed. I got up the next morning, bypassed the continental breakfast (I was NOT going to eat there after seeing the roach) and drove to a fast food restaurant. When I came back, my keycard wouldn't work. I went to the front desk to ask for assistance and the morning clerk was short with me. I left my room again to run to my car for a book-my keycard again wouldn't work. I went to the front to ask for assistance. The clerk said, "You are checking out today, right?" I assured her I would be. However, it was 8:30 a.m. and check out was not until 12:00. I asked if I needed to come back to the front lobby when I left. She said, "No, I'll just go ahead and check you out here." I didn't realize this meant the maid thought I had left. Imagine my suprise when I was dressing and the maid threw open the door to my room. She didn't apologize, just slammed the door shut. I quickly finished dressing and went to put on my shoes, only to discover another (very large) cockroach had taken up residence there.
At this point, I turned on all of the lights and took a closer look at the room. I found stained towels, sheets that hadn't been bleached in a long time and dust in the ice bucket. I really wish I had paid the extra $7 and gone to the next hotel.
