“Poor sleep in cheap hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

Hotel would not honor reward point due to slightly discounted rate. Door to hallway was very thin and allowed a lot of noise, and I could hear every footstep form the room above. Ther\e was something loose in one of the lights that rattled loudly with every footstep from above. Once the poeple abopve me got up there was no way I could sleep.

“The most unfriendly staff ever. The Hotel from Hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

The hotel is clean, but that is the only positive thing about this hotel. The entire staff except one woman, named Kathy (not the manager), were on a power trip, and loved to bark orders at our group constantly. At the pool, two of the people in our group went straight there to swim with their kids, and happened to bring a bottled water. This grown woman was yelled at in front of her kids by staff in the most rude way ever. This was all because she happened to miss the sign saying no food or drink. It was an honest mistake. We even caught one of the workers putting her ear up against our room doors with a telephone in her hand. When asked what she was doing she said that the two rooms next door were complaining of noise, and that was a lie because people in our group were sleeping in the so-called "complaining" rooms. This hotel was very rude, and if you are planning on staying somewhere in the Decatur area avoid this place unless you plan on being harassed, and spied on by the staff. Totally unbelievable and unacceptable.

“Good budget choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2010

A friend and I stayed one night in this hotel with pets on our way to a dog event. Room was pretty clean (one of my priorities), bed was comfortable, and breakfast was sufficient (cereal, danishes, bagels, make-your-own waffles.) Free wireless internet in room. Location was good for us - just off highway on the outskirts of town. There is a McDonald's/Subway/Truckstop within walking distance, but nothing else, so be aware if you're wanting an area surrounded by restaurants. Only complaint was that there was a group of young adults (21yrs?) that were hanging out inside the side door and in the parking lot making noise as they made their party plans and departure for the night. Heard them in the hall on their return after midnight, but they weren't as loud as I had expected, and once they passed didn't hear them again. Overall we had a really good stay and would stop here again. It was a good, clean, budget choice for us.

“Typical budget hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2008

Typical budget hotel. Tiny bathroom, but it was quiet when we were there for a Saturday evening. Did not use the indoor pool, so can't comment on it.

  • Liked — Very low rate
  • Disliked — Tiny bathroom and bare bones. Hotel is far from Milliken/downtown where we were visiting.
