“Good stay until we got home...then it was excellent!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

Stayed for the Jimmy Buffett concert and overall the stay was quiet and comfortable. Beds were a little small but we survived. What really impressed me was 2 days after we got back home, my nephew tells me that his ipod touch didn't make the trip. I called the hotel with no intentions of finding the ipod and they informed me that they had it at the front desk. I was completely impressed with the integrity and honesty of the housekeeper who found it and turned it in. The small beds will be worth the stay again at this hotel due to the honesty of the staff there.

“Stayed for 2 weeks...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

It is a typical Holiday Inn Hotel....the rooms are clean and I stayed for a week...they have a comparatively big Fitness Center and an indoor swimming pool...Hotel ha faster internet connection compared to Residence Inn by Marriott...the only drawback is that they don't provide complimentary breakfast on weekends...room service was prompt and staff were friendly..though fortunately I never faced problem in the Hotel....good for short-term stay, they don't have Kitchen...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I'm glad you had an enjoyable stay at the Holiday Inn Chicago SW - Countryside Conference Center. I'm happy you got to enjoy our Holidome, and that our internet service exceeded your expectations. We hope that if you are in the area in the future, that you will choose to stay with us again.

Thank you again.

“Terrible place to stay if you want to get a good nights sleep”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and teenage son to go to a college baseball showcase the next morning. I purposely asked for a QUIET room to get a good night sleep. I don't think ANY room there would be quiet. You can hear all the doors above you, all the doors below you and all the doors on your floor closing. They also decided to check-in a whole bus load of kids at 11:00PM at night and it sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in for over 20 minutes worth of complete bumping, pounding, and trampling. We had a room with 2 double beds. I am only 5'5" tall and MY feet hung over the bed. They were the smallest double beds I have ever seen. This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

“It was ok...dated but comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

I spent one night at the HI Countryside - came in the day before for a seminar being held at the hotel. The shuttle picked me up at Midway within 10 minutes of the time I'd scheduled. I heard a very different story from several other seminar participants - never came and they had to take a cab. In traffic it might take 25 min to get to Midway so factor that in. The room had a very comfortable bed but the hotel is pretty dated. I walked through the pool area and it looked nice. Catching the shuttle back we were told 3:45 - arrived to wait by 3:40 only to find it had left at 3:30. I think the bottom line is don't count on the shuttle if you are cutting it close. If you can get a good rate, it's a decent place to sleep - comfortable and fairly clean. The room had a microwave and fridge.

“Many great features”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Overall I highly recommend. Lots of good things to say:
Holidome has large lap pool, children's pool, two jacuzzis, pool tables, ping pong tables and arcade is fabulous. Pools are kept at just the right temperature - cool for the lap pool, warm for the children's pool, and very hot in the jacuzzis. Equipment for ping pong and pool is available at front desk.
Rooms are very clean, beds comfortable, fridge and microwave in every room, Free fast internet. All non smoking hotel. Two free waters and a couple of snacks were complimentary in rooms.
Breakfast included Mon-Fri was excellent. Very friendly service in restaurant. Food acceptable, nothing special, but as good as could be expected. Enjoyed "Breakfast and Pancake House" about a mile down Joliet Rd. on the weekends, so didn't try hotel weekend buffet.
A few minor flaws in room - no phone next to bed, no towel rack in sink area (outside of toilet and shower), tissue box was not replaced over three days.
