Upon check in we were informed that "self Parking" had no in-out privileges and was $37.00 per day. The valet option did have in-out privileges, so we chose that option, but it cost $51.00 per day. A total of $102.00 to park our car for two days at the hotel. The valet doesn't even bring the car to the front door, you have to go down to the basement to pick up your car. The parking charge was 1/3 the cost of our room which we were not happy about, nor do they tell you that when you book your room.
Secondly, being the weekend before Valentine's, my husband thought it would be a special surprise to have flowers in our room. He called the hotel a few days before our arrival and spoke to the concierge who assured him they could take care of that. He was referred to Randolph florist, who also said, they do that all the time. Well upon our arrival, no flowers in the room, spoiling the surprise my husband had planned. The hotel did have the flowers, they offered no apologies or explanation as to what happened with the flower delivery.
Thirdly, the hotel offers free wi-fi in the rooms, but we had difficulty on my laptop of getting a signal strong enough to use the wi-fi.
We sure were disappointed and upon expressing our disappointment were referred by the concierge to log our feedback on tripadvisor.com.
Fourthly, we were attending the Auto Show and the hotel advertised a free shuttle to the convention center. The hours of the shuttle were 8am - 11am and then from 7:30pm - 10pm. These times were not advertised anywhere on the hotel web site, only that there was a free shuttle. Some other travelers waited over 75 minutes for the shuttle, that was supposed to run every 1/2 hour.
The hotel was convenient to .various locations within walking distance for food, etc....but a return trip back to Chicago will result to in us staying in a different hotel.

Dear Morris7180,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review and while your comments were disappointing to read, I greatly appreciate you sharing them so that we can take the appropriate measures to ensure that other guests do not have a similar experience.
There is certainly no excuse for our failure to deliver the flowers as promised or to take ownership of the concerns you brought to our attention. I strongly believe that our guests understand that sometimes things happen but it how we respond that makes the difference. I appreciate the detailed information you have shared for it allows us valuable training examples that will improve the service we provide to our guests.
I have shared your comments regarding the auto shuttle service so that next year we better communicate the hours of operation of the shuttle.
Mrs. Morris, I do hope that you will choose to give the Sheraton Chicago another chance to demonstrate that we are able to provide the quality of service you have every right to expect from a Sheraton hotel.
Warmest regards,
Danita Harth-Bates,
Director of Rooms and Chief Experience Officer
