“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed here for my mother's birthday. I followed the Hyatt Regency on Facebook and they gave $15 off nightly parking and free internet if you say their secret word. They also gave my family an assortment of candy for my mother's birthday. The location is great, it is easy to get everywhere downtown and the room are actually pretty large for a downtown hotel.

“Good.....but thin walls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The hotel is in a great location and has a number of amenites. Didn't eat at the steak restaurant but it looked good - perhaps this summer when I'm back. There is a crowded place in the lobby where you can get breakfast stuff like yogurt, coffee and muffins but it isn't cheap. There are stores nearby if you plan ahead you can get these items for less than half of what they charge.

The room is nice, although there was no bathroom fan but the room didn't fog up so perhaps there is some sort of ventilation system that is 'stealth'.

The only real complaint - that others have mentioned - is that the walls ARE very thin. The first night it didn't matter as there was a quiet person next door but the next nights were noticed. Ear plugs help.

I'm not sure if there is a pool - the review asks me to rate it. I didn't see one but perhaps it was outside or I was just clueless.

“Excellent customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

From check-in to check-out everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Savannah at check-in was the perfect representative for the hotel. Helpful and accomodating, Savannah ensured that both rooms in my reservation were on the same floor.

The rooms were well appointed and we had a a nice view of the City. The flat screen television was nice and the beds were outstanding. (I had a hard time getting my husand and son out of the beds!) We found that the ihome ipod docking station had its power source removed and the bellman had one brought to us within five minutes.

One of the things I really enjoyed about the hotel was that there were many places to just sit and relax. We went to the lobby for a pre-dinner walkabout drink and had no problem finding an area for five guests.

In the morning, there was a nice coffee kiosk (J's) with a variety of drinks and snacks. I found the prices to be very reasonable, by Chicago standards.

My only remark would be that the valet collection was a bit hectic, but I do have to admit, we didn't call 15 minutes ahead as the hotel had requested.

I would certainly return.

“Enjoyable weekend celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This is a busy hotel. Constant activity. We were there during a city festival weekend. The hotel was booked full and most of the crowd was younger. There was quite a bit of "rules" placed on the hotel guests. There was crowd control by the hotel. The elevators had a line with the queue ribbons and crowd control in place. The guests we found to be patiently willing to wait through all of this. The crowded festival must have pre empted this mentality. We were on the 17th floor but found that the steps were a better choice than waiting to one of the six elevators to go down in the mornings. It would have assisted us best to have the floor clearly marked when you got to the lower floors. There seemed to have several sub floors and we past the lobby floor on several occasions as did the many of us who choose this means of travel through the hotel. I would recommend to post in the stairwells which floor is represented by level.

“Great place to get away and feel welcome”

By far the best experience at a hotel I have ever had, hands down. Upon arriving to the Hyatt on Feb 2nd, the inside of the main lobby is calming and sets the tone for the hotel as being for business and pleasure for adults, so anyone looking for family fun should look elsewhere. After checking into my room (no issue with early check-in!), took some time to relax on the bed and then check out the mini-bar. Upon opening the door I found an uncleaned wine glass with dried lipstick on the rim and dried wine in the bottom. After working out at the clean StayFit center, I notified the front desk about the glass and was assisted by Jordie, who was quick to professionally apologize, take care of the glass and then extend the courtesy of comping me $50 for eat and drink during my stay. Totally unnecessary but definitely welcomed and I took full advantage of this via the BIG BAR, which has one of the best skyline views of the city. Drinks were a little pricey but I was their for pleasure so it came with the territory. Between Jordie, Jennifer and her wonderful housekeeping staff, and the great hotel atmosphere, I will definitely be looking to stay here again oh and book Hotwire, found a great rate!
