I booked this motel back in March for a stay in July. On June 20th I received a email that it was no longer a 4points. I was a bit worried about why it had changed. However, I tried to keep an open mind about the situation. I booked the motel for $89/nt when other motels in the area were going for $199/nt. We were only staying 1 night, after the Jimmy Buffett Concert at Toyota Park. After getting the email notification I checked on some other motels in the area and they were all booked up. So, we got there, checked in and headed up to the room. We were on the 4th floor. The carpets in the hall way were very stained and in need of some deep cleaning. The room was relatively clean, but smelled musty. We checked for bed bugs before committing to stay (there were none). There was a thermostat on the wall to control to control the temp. We set it on 72 and it only kicked on 1 time during the night, making it feel very stuffy. Noise from the hallway made it seem like other people were trying to enter our room. The King size bed was comfortable. The shower had very little pressure. When we went to check out the housekeeping lady was sitting in the doorway of another room, talking to another employee. She asked us what room we were checking out of. I found this slightly unprofesional. When we got around the corner to the elevator there was a mop bucket blocking the elevator. Maybe it belonged to the other employee? The area where the motel is located seemed decent. I felt safe, even when returning after 11pm from the concert, and I tend to be paranoid. There was an outdoor (small) pool and a restaurant. We didn't use either, so I can't comment. I probably wouldn't stay here again, unless they undergo a major renovation. The motel is just old and run down. There are plenty of other motels closer to Midway/Toyota Park and they appear much newer. There is also a starbucks located among those motels, for you coffee drinkers. I've stayed at all types of motels/hotels in the past and I would rank this closer to a DaysInn or Motel 6. Not horrible, but not great. And we were really only in the room after the concert to sleep, so it fit the bill.
