Stayed there 1/23/12 that was enough. Historic yes, nice no. Shabby in all respects. Water does not get hot, TV sketchy, heating in winter abysmal, service indifferent. Air quality in the room is appalling. Internet slow and erratic $12 a day. Other staying there reported the same. I certainly would never take my wife there. All in all the Chicago convention and tourism should get this off there list.

I visited Chicago during January, 2012 and chose the Congress Plaza for its convenience to the McCormick Center. I was highly disappointed. This place is a dump! Dirty. Cheap finishes. A restaurant that would make Denny's seem nice (the Gazebo Restaurant needs to invest in dishwasher that actually works! And oh yes, a 15 minute wait for hot water. This place is a DUMP! I will not be coming back to the Congress Plaza.

Great hotel- good location, easy to catch bus to any location. Easy to walk anywhere on Michigan Ave. Very good price. The rooms are a little old and bathrooms are small. View was great from front side of hotel. Would stay there again!

We stayed for 1 night because we had symphony tickets. We had a king lake view room and it was phenomenal. The view of the lake was great and we could see navy pier. These rooms would be great for firework viewing! The room was clean and very comfortable. We did have some street noise even though we were on the 10th floor, but it's Chicago so we would expect the noise. This is walking distance to the symphony, Art museum and 1 of our favorite restaurants, The Russian Tea Time. You pay for valet parking, but again in a big city you always do.
