The Hilton Chicago has a lot of history, and they teach you that in the elevator with small TV screens. I was expecting more based on the history, but it seemed to be an old hotel with some fix-ups. Check-in was fast as a Diamond member, and I was upgraded to the Executive Floor. Unfortunately, the room was less impressive.. very small. They've obviously tried to make it more than it really is. The bathroom had marble and gold-plated fixtures, but still appeared old and boring. THe most annoying thing was a computer monitor with some new touch-screen features that kept coming on at 4 AM to wake me up despite my attempts to turn it off (there was no "off" button). While it was great to have 2 phones in such a small room, the cordless phone didn't work at all. I always love coffee makers in the room, but they didnt refill my coffee one day. The beers were $7 in the bar. I could buy a 6-pack for the cost of one beer. Parking was very expensive. Definitely not worth the expense of this hotel. Next time, I'll try the Palmer Hilton. It's just as far to the darn convention center.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We hope you enjoyed the trivia of the Hilton Chicago on our elevator TV’s.
It appears that we fell short in meeting your expectations during your visit and for this we sincerely apologize. It is evident that there were a number of issues you experienced which caused you disappointment of the Hilton Chicago. Please know we take feedback such as yours very seriously and use the information to focus on opportunities for improvement and training. For instance, regarding the appearance of the guestrooms, we are currently undergoing a renovations project that includes new and modern guestrooms with updated amenities. Computer screens are now programmed to automatically turn off at 11:00pm and turn back on at 8:30am. As for the cordless phone not working and no coffee refills these issues will be addressed accordingly with department heads. The beer charge and parking rates, please be assured the Hilton Chicago works hard to maintain competitive pricing for the downtown area.
We appreciate your business and again for taking the time to offer your feedback. We truly hope you give us the opportunity to serve you in the future in the true spirit of hospitality for which Hilton Hotels are known.
Sincerely,
Damien G. McArdle
