“home away from home”

My winter in Chicago was nothing but warm and cozy, because of my stay in the coach house apartment at the Windy City Urban Inn. The apartment is well designed- furnished with plush bedding and linens, nicely planned sitting areas and offers good natural light, creating a peaceful and comfortable environment.

This was my first stay at WCUI and I had the pleasure of staying for a couple of months, while I was working a freelance job. I felt completely at home, being able to cook when I wanted, relax in the jacuzzi when I was tired, and even socialize in the main house over weekend breakfasts. I didn't want to leave.

The location is unbeatable, being walking distance to great food, shopping, entertainment and the lake. I recommend this B&B to those who like beauty, peace, and relaxation inside- yet who also loves to play outside in Chicago.
I just hope there's still room for me, after telling you all about it!

“Wonderful Experience”

A group of six ladies was unanimous about our experience at the Windy City Urban Inn. We LOVED it!!!! The accommadations were excellent, the food was abundant, tasty, and varied. The hostess and helpers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The neighborhood is charming and great for walking to just about anything you'd need beyond the B & B especially The Basil Leaf resturant. We'd return in a heartbeat for another enjoyable stay (if we get Oprah tickets again) or just for a getaway. Happy Ohioians.

“A Microcosm for Chicago's Best”

Everything wonderful about Chicago--its open and friendly residents, an energy at once vibrant and relaxed, its architectural charm, a feeling of community--I found at this lovely bed and breakfast.

Located in Lincoln Park, the Inn immerses you in a pleasant Chicago neighborhood, where you can enjoy a quiet night's sleep. The bed was ultra-comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the entire Inn elegantly furnished. Mary and Andy Shaw are gracious hosts and terrific resources for anything you want to know about Chicago.

The only downside was that I had to leave, since, like all good things, travel adventures must end.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our first trip to Chicago. We were very pleased with our room and the helpful guidance from the innkeeper. I would stay here again.

“A Home away from Home”

The Windy City Inn is by far the best place we have ever stayed in Chicago. Our hosts(Andy and Mary Shaw) were so kind and gracious. We felt spoiled in our surroundings. The Inn accomadated my late arrival as well as making our stay a weekend not to forget. They offer a FREE WIRELESS network, as well as a homemade breakfast and all the warmth and beautiful surroundings any could offer. The rambling main house makes you feel as if you are staying with family, and the coach houses are the roomiest as well as being decorated so lovely, and Mary's lovely Patio Garden is so lush. Mary went far and beyond and helped us out the morning of our departure, she is the most kindest and gracious hostess, and her family is just as kind. We will definatley stay again and miss our little coach house already....
