“A terrific place to base one's exploration of Wicker Park and its environs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

The Inn has a terrific location, nestled in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The building is a little dated and the walls are thin. But if you run a fan for a little white noise you can effectively block out the Blue Line train and the sounds of your neighbors .

The breakfast spread and the free on-street parking make this a much better value than a traditional hotel downtown or in the Loop.

Only significant drawback: No individual thermostats in the rooms, so you are at the mercy of however the owners have set the temperature. In February, our room was stiflingly hot. Made sleeping a little uncomfortable.

“This was a great place for a romantic Valentine's Day weekend.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011 via mobile

Absolutely beautiful property in the heart of Wicker Park near the Damen CTA blue line stop. Nearby within walking distance are too many great restaurants and shops to mention-don't even bother to worry about bringing a car.
The Wrights are great hosts. They make you feel instantly at home.
Even though all rooms were booked, place was very quiet in a quiet neighborhood. The Wrights also provide a lovely breakfast buffet you can eat at your leisure. Great place for out of towners or a
staycation.

“Good Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

After the Philippine trip my wife and I are finally flying back to San Francisco tomorrow. We are here in Chicago to meet my wife's relatives.
I am glad we chose this hotel. I feel the comforts of home.

“Very cute, great location, bring ear plugs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2010

I stayed for one night in the Cape Cod room. Super cute place. The staff is super friendly and accommodating - one of the best parts of the experience. The room was very comfortable, charming, and clean. The absolute best part about WPI is the location. You just can't beat it!!! Totally makes it worth it.

I really liked this place, and found it to be accommodating, however the walls are so thin that it may make me think twice about staying here again. I really want to, but I didn't sleep well at all due to my neighbors coming in pretty late (or rather early in the morning) and talking for a while, then taking showers and being in and out of their room. This makes me sad because everything else about this place is just right!! Maybe ear plugs would make it possible?? To be clear, the staff did warn me about the the noise level from the train nearby, but this wasn't a bother at all and honestly wasn't even noticeable. It was simply the guests next door. If I had only had quieter neighbors, this would have been a perfect stay. If I weren't there for business the next day, it might have been more acceptable, as I am pretty laid back.

It is a really great place that is super cute with a phenomenal staff. Pack your ear plugs and it definitely could work for you! For the price, location and staff it's worth it!

“A Peaceful Corner of Chicago”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2010

The Wicker Park Inn is a small, immaculate B&B on a quiet residential side street in the up-and-coming and very trendy Wicker Park district on the north side of Chicago. It is about a 5 block walk to the CTA Blue Line Damen stop for frequent, direct service to O'Hare (about 30 minutes) and central Chicago (10-15 minutes). The inn is also a short walk to many fine neighborhood restaurants, food shops, chic boutiques of every variety as well as a number of trendy clubs.
A substantial buffet breakfast is served, with excellent pastries from a local bakery.
The only caveat: the elevated Blue Line runs behind the inn in the backyard. Some may not care for the rumble of the passing trains. (Not a problem for us the sound of a train is music to our ears!)
