We chose the House of Two Urns more for convenience and parking. We have relatives who live down the street and wanted to stay in close proximity to them. This B&B was an excellent find.
We had a king size bed in a room down the street from the main building. Kapra gave excellent directions to the back parking garage and gave us a quick tour of the building. Although we didn't need the kitchen, sitting room or washer and dryer, it was great knowing it was there in case we needed it. It's just nice knowing that I could have brought back leftovers to store in the fridge, or microwave popcorn if a craving hit, or make myself a quick breakfast if I wanted to. Plus, the washer dryer was a front loaded so it would have been energy efficient and given us a clean wash. I wished I had used the facilities more but since I was in town for a family function, there was no opportunity to do so.
The breakfasts were lovely. I'm not used to having such carby, sugary breakfasts but it was delicious. It would have been nice to have some hard boiled eggs in the cereal area so I could lay a better base. But, this is a minor quibble.
Lots of great food in the area and close to public transportation. This is a great alternative to staying downtown.
If you are there during the spring, summer or fall, ask to look at the garden on the side of the main house. It's magnificent. Slightly overgrown in a good way, there were edibles everywhere. Totally my kind of garden and I loved how they used the ingredients for the breakfasts.
