I stayed at Alice's for three months and I enjoyed each day. The apartment is spacious and very nicely furnished, it's cool on hot days and comfortably warm on cold days, the neighborhood is very beautiful, safe and quiet. All kinds of shops are nearby, the Fullerton train station is only a few minutes away.
On sunny days you can enjoy the garden and the beautiful sundeck: it's so great to read a book there, to eat your breakfast or to have dinner with friends.
Fran and Quincy are the best hosts you can imagine: kind, warm-hearted persons, they will give you any help you need, they always know where the best cafés and restaurants are and they know all the best events in the neighborhood or in the Loop. I so much enjoyed to go shopping for fabrics with Fran or to go to the Lincoln Park music fetsivals (Quincy is a great guitar-player and singer)!
I have been to Chicago several times before and I I certainly will come back, and even if I can only stay for a couple of days in this wonderful city: I will always favor a stay at such a beautiful apartment with such kind hosts over a stay at a hotel downtown now: I gained an insight into what is really going on in Chicago and Lincoln Park and I felt much better taken care of. I didn't feel much like a tourist, more like someone who is new in a group.
I'm very much looking forward to my next stay at Alice's!

Fran and Quincy made us very welcome and did everything they could to make sure these first timers to Chicago got around with the least amount of difficulty. They were always just a phone call away to answer any questions, make suggestions, and help us in any way they could. They are situated in a wonderful neighborhood with anything one could need. They are also only two blocks from the El, making a trip into the city as easy as can be, and only about 15 minutes. Thanks for everything!

We could not have asked for a better experience on our recent trip to Chicago. We were constantly discovering the little touches our host, Fran, had put in our apartment at Aster House (Elizabeth's Place) to make us feel at home. We regretted that we were busy at a conference and couldn't enjoy just staying in the apartment more. It was convenient to absolutely everything, and getting downtown to my conference was fast and easy on the train. If you like vintage and antiques, you will love staying in this quaint, picturesque place. It was quiet and peaceful, in a lovely neighborhood. Our hosts provided us with information to get around the city, recommendations, free wireless, and weather forecasts! I could have stayed at the Hilton, but I much preferred this roomy apartment in Lincoln Park. Next time I will have to plan better so I can take full advantage of the sun deck, the kitchen and large dining room.

I had a lovely time! I am a Chicago native who had not been able to visit in some time, and Ms. Ramer helped to make our stay a great one. The building is beautiful and lovingly restored, and VERY convenient to a ton of amenities. I do not know that i would have had as great a time staying anywhere else, and my charming hostess was a large part of making that happen for me and for my family.
