A pleasant find within walking distance of downtown Chicago. The guest house did not provide breakfast as there were plenty of very nice cafe's in the vicinity to explore. There was a fully equipped kitchen with tea & coffee and lots of maps and information about local restaurants and sightseeing. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, making sure we had a parking place when we arrived (very important!). The house was pleasantly cool in the fierce Chicago heat, adorned with antiques and old fashioned wall paper. Our room at the top of the stairs (need to be fit!) was on the warm side but fitted with a small (but a little noisy) a/c unit. It was nice to have access to lots of reading books and a very modern music system. Our private bathroom was not en suite but did not cause us a problem as we never saw any other guests. It was quaintly decorated with antiques with a nice large shower. We liked Hanson House because of its location, privacy and proximity to downtown without the noise or traffic.
