Went to Chicago for a week for a show. We were just looking for a place to sleep at night. This was it. If your not planning on being in your room all day....this is the place for you. The place is three stories with no elevators. The rooms are small and old but they are clean. You can't beat the location. We were 1 block away from the Cermak/ Chinatown Redline stop which will take you right into the loop. You can access all of the other trains from there. We had a great time and our room served it's purpose. They have a communal refrigerator, microwave, and computer downstairs. Coffee makers in the rooms, but no coffee, so bring your own.

Booked hotel in advance through a website, and thought it would be a excellent way to spend a weekend exploring Chicago.. We lucked out by finding free parking along the street just a block from the hotel.. The service was acceptable, and the location was excellent.. We enjoyed being close to the train, and downtown.. We were able to enjoy the ambiance of china town, and all its cuisine.. The Noddles restaurant was the best..
The down side of our stay, was the paper thin walls.. A very scratchy horse blanket on the bed, and the room was much smaller then it appeared in the photos.. The stair way was narrow and made it difficult to handle our luggage.
All and all in suited our needs, and left us with great memories.. We are still talking about it today..

I stayed at the Chinatown hotel for 2-nights (Fri-Sat) to be downtown during a business trip and was pleased with the neighborhood location, the proximity to the Cerma-Chinatown CTA station, and the excellent bakery just around the corner. The hotel room itself was small but clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but perfectly acceptable and accessible. Would definitely stay here again for future short visits to Chicago.

I reserved this room sometime ago for a weekend during the Taste of Chicago expecting simple, basic accomodations. And that's precisely what I got. The location is nothing short of excellent, with an El stop blocks away and some absolutely amazing restaurants nearby.

To sum up, this place can be best described as a fairly exotic version of Motel 6. If you're looking for a basic set of accomodations that's convenient, then this place is a super deal. If you're looking to be pampered, or you want to impress that special someone in your life, you're definetly barking up the wrong tree.
