This hotel is in a very good location and close to several sites; Art Institute, Millennium Park. We took transit everywhere and the underground and the 'L' are a block away. The amenities are very good: gym, free WIFI in the room.
The rooms are very small and we were "upgraded" to a Corporate Suite - with kitchenette, eating area, double bed and sleeper sofa. It was still very small for what we paid, but comparable to other downtown hotels in other big cities. We rearranged the furniture to try and get more space, but everything in the room was positioned badly - from the wardrobe that blocked the hallway to the sleeper sofa that could not be folded out all the way because of the wardrobe!
Yes, the hotel lobby is nice but that's not where I sleep. We stayed 6 nights here. Our 6th floor room was dark and dingy and although we had had originally paid for a room with a kitchenette, we had to call the Front Desk two times to get all the supplies we needed (forks, knives, a pot, etc). The fridge also stopped working and we had to call to have that fixed the first night. But it stopped working every night so my husband had to unplug it and plug it back in each time. Also, we didn't sleep for 4 out of 6 nights because of the deafening noise at 3am and 4am every morning from the alleyway.
Anything we needed, the staff brought, but it took 1-2 hours. The floor staff are wonderful and were so nice and greeted me in the hallway and whatever I needed, they found for me (a vase, an empty box...).But, the maid service was very inconsistent. I don't think they even vacuumed the room.
I would not go back to this hotel or recommend it.
P.S. Don't even bother to go to the onsite restaurant. It's filthy and the food is terrible.
