We've stayed at The Burnham for the past few years, both when passing through Chicago & enjoying a long weekend. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is unbelievably friendly & we always feel at home here. We sometimes travel with our dog & this is the only hotel I would consider in that case. The location is wonderful, the Atwood serves good food & the overall feeling of the hotel is warm & welcoming. The rooms are always spotless & we always enjoy our time there. We loved it so much that we extended our stay an extra day over New Years weekend!

Four and half stars (I'm a very tough rater).

Perfect location and a must for anybody interested in architecture. This was one of the first modern skyscrapers in the world. Maybe because this was Chicago in January, but the price (I thought) was more than reasonable for being smack-dead in the middle of the Loop. My room was very nice, although the view was nothing to speak of (but this is not a criticism. Every hotel has to have a few rooms without any view, and I opted for a reasonable price over a view). Certain floors (accessible to everyone) have lobby areas which show off the full display of original iron work. A walk down the interior stairs is a must!

The Burnham is a treat, old style Chicago building in the Loop and close to businesses and entertainment. The restaurant and bar are superb (I am a fan of bloody marys and crabcakes). Its all cozy and warm without seeming small. I've stayed there about 5 times and keep going back. Superb service and...its pet friendly. Kind of nice to see a friendly pooch or two when I'm away from home.

We live in Milwaukee and have visited Chicago for decades. This is one of the best possible locations - a few minutes walk from the Art Institute and Millennium Park, across the street from Macy's (Marshall Fields), short walk from Union Station, Navy Pier, Buddy Guy's, Magnificent Mile, Theater District, the EL, etc, etc. Small 16 floor hotel feels like home, very nice people, great little bar and restaurant and lobby with late afternoon wine tasting and interesting architectural history. Upgrading upon request no problem if availability, nice views, a first rate place overall at incredible pricing for such a location in Chicago, (You would pay more in Milwaukee!!). Business, anniversary, shopping trip, whatever, this is the place, no BS.
