“Horible Hotel”

THIS HOTEL IS THE WORST HOTEL i have ever stayed at, we are LEAVING today because of the discussing beds, rooms, showers, towels, toilets, blankets, tv, lighting, and food. Dont waist your money and time at this hell hole, you might as well stay in your car. it is a piece of crap we are going to stay in a different hotel today, it reminds me of through up, and i wanted to through up when we walked into our room. I would of left last night but we came at 11:30,
And also the pool smells like crap and has brown spots in it.

Room Tip: choose the room out of the hotel, you are better off in your car

“Not worth it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Stayed here because they had a cheaper rate than other area hotels. Not worth the few extra bucks. Dingy outdated rooms, old, small rooms, cramped bathrooms, smoky smelly hallways. Parking lot full of potholes. Breakfast is 11 dollars, self serve buffet, and they have the gall to have a line on the bill for a tip!

“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I have stayed at this hotel two times now. Both times I was in the area for business and one of the times I brought my daughter with me. The hotel is reasonably priced and clean. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are a nice size. My daughter had a great time in the pool while I relaxed in the hot tub. The location is great for getting to the area pharma companies. There is plenty of restaurants around too. I will continue to stay at this property when my meetings draw me back to the area.

Overall, it is nothing fancy but is a great value.

“It did the job...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

I stayed at the Wyndham Garden Inn in Buffalo Grove for three nights in November of 2011 with a group of eight seminary classmates as we held a mini-reunion in conjunction with a conference at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. I would agree with previous reviewers who have acknowledged that this hotel is relatively nice and fully functional, if a bit old and tired. The check-in process was quick and painless, and there was plentiful, free parking. I was thrilled to walk into our huge bedroom, with vaulted ceilings, which was very clean and well-appointed. And the bed was extremely comfortable.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was rather small. The TV was old and relatively small. The hallways and carpets were all very well-worn and somewhat unbecoming for a hotel that was otherwise quite nice. Though I appreciated having access to a computer and printer in the lobby, there was only one computer, which was very slow, so it was only useful to me late at night when other folks weren't lined up to use it for air travel confirmations and other such stuff. And I was disappointed that the breakfast buffet was $9.95, especially since I had just stayed at an equally nice hotel the previous week with a complimentary breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed a few nice soaks in the hot tub beside the indoor pool, which was nice. There were several spacious and comfortable seating areas in the lobby area where we could hang-out as a group and chat. There were free drinks available at the bar, with coupons that we were given when we checked in.

Overall, we had a fine stay at this Wyndham Garden Inn. We slept well, had some great social time together, and the price was quite cheap (less than $45 per night per room, including taxes, through Priceline). The location was a bit removed from some of the other stuff we wanted to see in the Chicagoland area, but there were plenty of nearby restaurants to keep us well-fed. I wouldn't seek out this hotel on a future trip to Chicago, but I'd be quite satisfied if we ended up at this place again.

“Great business hotel, close to Route 12/53”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Just 10 minutes North of Arlington Park Hotel, and about 20 minutes North of Woodfield, this hotel is in a good location. There are two full serve restaurants within 2 minutes of the front door, and like other Wyndham Gardens, there is a restaurant on site. The outside needs painting, so I was a little worried. However, the inside looked fresh and clean. My room was classic wyndham. One feature I had never seen was a stuffed chair with a plug in it, and a couple built in tray type tables where a person could put a laptop. There was a nice reading lamp right behind it. It would have been nice to have an ottoman for a foot rest; but was really neat. The bed was comfortable. The towels were a little thin and small, but OK. The staff provided excellent service. I would stay there again.

I used Priceline name your price, and got the room for $55 plus their hidden fees... which came to about $70. MUCH less than the $95-$100+ (before taxes and fees) rooms quoted for the hotel on all other websites. Priceline gave the Wyndham $48 for my room...which was kind of a rip-off to both of us!

Room Tip: I had a room that was far from the front desk; but right next to one of the doors, which was great.
