Been a couple of years since I have been to this area. Have stayed at this property in the past--probably been a couple of years though. I believe the hotel has been remodeled/renovated within the last year or so.

Room is your typical Fairfield Inn style and size--nothing more and nothing less. TV was a flat-panel. Wireless internet was available. Bedding was comfortable.

A huge plus for this hotel is its great location. A mall is directly across the parking lot. There is also a Cracker Barrel immediately to the right and a very good Italian restaurant immediately behind the hotel property. All of these places are easily within walking distance.

Another positive is the customer service. Stayed here a couple of times in the past and always received wonderful customer service.

As others have mentioned, this property was clean on my visit. This factor always goes a long way with me when I rate properties.

Lastly, chose this property because of value/rate. Fairfield was cheaper than all other similar places in area that I checked.

If you travel a lot, you understand that Fairfield's are generally the bottom-end of the Marriott property line. But this is a solid hotel property.

We chose this hotel based on the low amount of Marriott points it was going to cost for a one week stay. It is well located for one wanting to go to both Chicago and Springfield. Plenty of good restaurants and shopping nearby.

The Good: Very friendly check in and front desk staff. Maid service was consistent and solid. Room was comfortable and with some space. Free Internet with acceptable speed. Good choices of TV channels. Good quality bath products. Bed was quite comfortable. Free breakfast.

Needs Improvement: The towels are in need of replacement. Definitely showing their age. No onsite guest laundry machines or fitness center (which other Fairfield inn's I have been in have).

Overall - The hotel served mostly served our needs and we are planning to stay there again.

I typically don't stay in Fairfield Inns, but this one is exceptional.

Pros:
1. Extraordinarily clean - the room was immaculate!
2. No dirty comforter here: this recently renovated property featured nice linens and a duvet cover.
3. The staff are very helpful and kind, especially the young lady who works the early morning shift.
4. Having breakfast is a nice perk. I didn't try much, but I enjoyed the Yoplait yogurts.

I don't have any cons!

I have stayed in some Fairfields that are not anything special, but this is one that I will definately return to if I am ever in the area again. The beds were very comfortable, the hotel was clean, and the breakfast was above average. The rooms were also very quiet. They did have the carpets cleaned the day I stayed, and it left my room feeling a little damp all evening, but I understand that is a maintenance measure they need to take, so it wasn't a big deal.
