I stayed here after Delta bumped my flight. It was pretty dingy which was not unexpected. I was definitely put into one of the older rooms. However, after I turned the TV off and tried to go to sleep I kept hearing rustling in the walls, like rodents were climbing around. It totally freaked me out and, after turning on the light and listening to them for 20 minutes to make sure I wasn't crazy, I went down to the front desk to ask for another room. The clerk was nice at first but then asked me if I'd used the bed or the bathroom and when I responded that I had been in bed when I heard the rustling, he informed me that because there wasn't a problem physically inside the room then he wasn't able to move me. I told him I WASN'T staying in that room and asked to be moved to a different wing of the hotel. He told me that it was against policy because I'd "used" the bed. Finally, after rudely suggesting that I use earplugs to block out the rustling noise, he gave me the key to another room. He made it sound like he was doing me a huge favor ("I'm really not supposed to do this") and the cop who was standing at the front desk agreed with him ("Wow, that's really nice of you to help her out"). My jaw dropped -- what a ridiculous situation to even have to be in, let alone that the clerk made me feel like he was doing me a favor. The new room was better (no noise of rodents in the walls, yay!) but there were no blackout curtains so it was tough to stay asleep.
I told Delta about my experience and strongly urge travelers NOT TO STAY HERE -- even if you have to pay a little extra, its worth it to not stay here!!
