At first sight, we thought this was a typical LaQuinta. So WRONG. Sink drain was bad. Worst breakfast we have seen at any hotel chain.

Made a last minute reservation at La Quinta Inn in Bloomington for 1 night. The room was about what one would expect for $50 for a night. Free continental breakfast in the AM (cereal, bagels, waffles, coffee juice). All in all a decent stay - except for the pillows! Both my son and I commented to each other that the pillows were awful - too firm, and too "tall", causing neck soreness in the AM.

Our room was clean but nothing else positive to say

Where do I begin!! I had no idea that this hotel was actually a run down motel. My boyfriend and I stayed at the La Quinta Inn once before (not this one) and we loved it. BUT I do not know what happen to this LaQuinta Inn. The clerk was friendly and the lounge was nice but once you enter into the room, it's a completely different story.

I open the door and this strange smell hit me right in the nose. I thought the room had a smell because the air condition was off and the room was muggy. I turn on the air condition and sprayed my perfume. The smell DID NOT go away. Majority of hotels the door shuts itself, NOT HERE! I had to go behind myself to shut the door and not to mention, guest were complaining about the key cards not working and one of my cards DID NOT WORK AT ALL.

My xext disaster, I sat on the bed and completely sunk in. I got up to check to see what was goingon and they place a mattress pad on top of the bed. I was trying to be nice, so I kept my cool and connected to the internet and I HAD NO ACCESS. I had to call the front desk and tell them that the internet doesn't work and she replied "it's working up here". I do not care if its working at the front desk, I need my internet to work in my room. Eventually, she restarted the router and I got a connection, but it was SLOW and kept dropping all my skype calls. UGH!! I took a brief nap because I was so tried from driving. I woke up and here comes that smell again. Smelling that nasty smell made my stomach hurt and I could not breathe. I decided to go get something to eat but I ate my dinner in my car, because I knew I would of vomit in the room.

The bathroom is very, very, very tiny. I couldn't shut the bathroom door without bumping my knee. Later on that night, I stayed up and finish some of my work. I started to get sleepy, so I laid in the bed and guess what I started to itch like crazy. You would of thought that I was on drugs. Then I seen a bug flying in the room and wondering where did that come from since the windows do not open!!! At this time its 5:30 A.M. and I couldn't fall asleep at all so decided to called my secomd party company who booked my this hotel and told him I need demand a refund!! So my travel planner called the hotel and they told him that I had to wait til the manager comes in at 7:30. Therefore, I started to pack my things and wait 2 more hours in this nasty room. My travel agent did call me back and told me that I can check out early and get a refund. I ran out that NASTY low budget hotel and didn't look back twice.

Everytime I think about staying there, I start to itch. I advise you to PLEASE do not make the same mistake as I did. For now on, I am checking more than one review souce, because I did not check travel advisor at all. Looking at the reviews after I stayed there, I should smack myself on the hand. I guess you can say, I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR!
