I search and search for a hotel in Bloomington and I narrowed down my search to this hotel and Fairfield which is across the street. This hotel was my number one because of all of the feedback. I called the number listed in tripadvisor and asked for Bloomington Inn and Suites, they then gave me the number for Fairfield. I asked for a price from Fairfield and they were willing to work out a price. I then search and search for the phone number for Bloomington Inn and Suites. When I called the number, I was just quoted one number. I called the next day and asked if there were other rooms available. We were looking for a room with a second room attached. I was quoted a number that was $20 higher than Fairfield. I asked that they price match and I was told that their rate should be comparable. I told them that it was not and they then proceed to price match. We get to the hotel and there are people who are walking through the parking lot. It made me feel a little uneasy. We get in and I am looking for the warm cookies. There are only two left. We decided to pass since there are four of us. We get into our room and they gave us a room with one king bed for four people. When I called and complained I was told that it would cost me another $10 (even though this was the room I did not order and the person on the phone knew I had two kids). I said no and he also told me that I should have been charged extra since we received a crib. I told him that no one told us that on the the phone. After a brief discussion, we were then given the room that we ordered - the Presidential Suite. In this room, we had no pillows or blankets for the pull out bed. The bathroom had drips from paint on the wall. It also looks like someone tried to fix the bathroom ceiling and did a poor room. Also, the carpet was coming apart. In the morning we went for breakfast. The yogart was expired. The milk was expiring that day. The oj and apple juice tasted funny. The bagels were hard and the warm food was not warm. I grabbed the paper and it was two days old. There did not look like there were too many people at the hotel. I think with the switch over from Holiday Inn and Express that the hotel has down.
