The entrance to the Hawthorn Suites was very welcoming and clean. Staff very friendly and check-in was quick and painless, except for the fact we were put in to a handicapped room which we did not request, but were too tired from being on the road all day to ask for another room. Room was in need of some updating. Carpet needed to be replaced. Most places have updated to flat screens by now but no big deal. The breakfast area was very nice and updated and was very good with eggs, bacon, tater tots, waffles and the other usual breakfast items. Did not feel the room was a 'suite' per se, but did have a couch and coffee table. For anyone who was actually handicapped and would have to sit down on the shower seat to take a shower, it would not be safe as the seat was not flat and I about slid off! Mattress was not the most comfortable but we've slept on much worse. The sheets were awful! Very pilled and actually felt rough on your skin! They really need to get different sheets! Have stayed in numerous places over the years and have never had sheets feel that rough! There was also a large stain on the sheers over one window. Those types of things should be taken care of immediately and the housekeepers should be alert for things like this.
