This is a large motel. It looks nice from the outside.
My overall impression was "low". The toilets were the old style round bowl and extremely low. The beds were nice and firm, but again, very low. The water pressure was the biggest "low" of all. It was practically nonexistent. I bet I spent 15 extra minutes in the shower just trying to get the shampoo out. Water can't be that expensive in Illinois. The bathroom was very small, but clean and had an extremely attractive shower curtain.
The room was a fair size and very clean, except for the wine bottle we found behind a chair.
We like a place with thermostatically controlled temperature. The Red Roof had this.
It had a fridge and microwave in a cabinet. We did not use either. The hairdryer was weak, but a least there was one.
There is a Subway right across the parking lot and, after a long day of travel, that was a welcome sight. There were quite a few people staying the evening we were there and we did not hear any of them.
I believe they had a breakfast, although we did not try it.
Overall, it was a fairly nice place at a good price. We would not hesitate to stay there in the future. We simply prefer higher beds and commodes and may search for that on future trips. If that is not important to you, then this place is just fine the way it is.
Both employess we encountered were vey nice and professional.
