The room looked updated and was nice but the bathroom badly needs updating. The ceiling was cracked above the shower and there was rust on all metal (toilet flanges, door hinges, door bumper) parts. Other than that this is a nice avereage Hampton.

The building is rather dated and the location is questionable for a Hilton family of hotels. The west end of Bloomington is a bit more sketchy than portions closer to Normal. I am in the Bloomington area frequently and stay in the Hampton Inn of Bloomington-Normal as a FAR better alternative.

The choice of restaurants and activities in the area is very sparse and the surroundings seem unsafe. The rooms seem to have similar amenities as other Hampton Inns, but the beds are cleanliness are clearly sub-par. As an HHonors VIP member, I would have at least expected a warning. Move on from this one if you are expecting a 3.5 star experience.

We had just finished a ten hour road trip and were very pleased with this particular Hampton. We stayed in a total of five Hamptons in five states and this one was one of the better ones. Room clean, bed comfortable, quiet. Breakfast was one of the better ones we experienced, with fresh breakfast sausage, eggs and plenty of seating. Our only complaint was the inability of the desk clerk to find our Hilton Honors number online. We had left our card at home and she only made a cursory effort to find it, before declaring she couldn't find it and we'd have to enter the information ourselves on the Hilton website.

Overall this Hampton Inn was a slight disappointment. I always try to stay at a Hampton Inn whenever I travel for business as it is usually always consistent. With this hotel, it was not up to the usual standards. One of my complaints is the work out facility. While you can't expect much from a hotel, this one was particularily weak. Very old equipment, unusable treadmill. Secondly, the closet door fell off it's very weak hinge and almost fell on me when I opened it, I avoided it after than. It was clean, however, and close to restaurants so OK in that respect.
