This town and this motel have seen better days. I suspect that this is an old, abandoned Holiday Inn that used to have a pool. The current owners seem to be trying to run the place on a tight budget. Travelers expecting a slick, modern looking property like the new Hampton Inns and Holiday Inn Expresses will be disappointed by the "vintage" ambiance of a 40 year old motel. The bathroom and the decor are a little tired, but the room and the Inn seem reasonably clean, and kept as nice as a stop at no place in particular, on the way to somewhere can be. Benton is the County seat, so I imagine that it relys primarily on what I-57 business it can snag, and courthouse "invitees" and their families for its livelyhood. The restaurant in the front of the Inn, Nick's Okla-Mex restaurant and bar has a unique Cancun/Mexican resort flavor to it. Breakfast was good, (served all day). No refrig/microwave in the room, but there is a coffee maker. For its location (roadside USA) I rated it very good, relatively speaking.
