I booked 3 rooms at this hotel on a Saturday night in June. Beleville is about 20 minutes or so outside of Saint Louis, so good for that, but there is no easy freeway access ot this hotel, so you are on surface streets for the majority of that distance. That may or ay not be a factor for you, but just mentioning it. Belleville is a neat little town with a downtown that includes a couple bars and restaurants. The hotel sits at the end of the strip so it would be an easy quick walk should you want to.
My room was above the office in a corner. At first I thought it didn't have a bathroom, until I noticed a hallway down one side that led to it. The room was kind of dark and felt old and dated, but it was clean enough and comfortable enough for my needs. The AC worked well, the wifi worked and I also had a mini fridge and a microwave, which was a plus., The TV had a surprosing amount of channels too.
There were a lot of people milling about both late at night and early the next morning. I can't say for sure but it is possible some of them live there. They weren't threatening or intimidating, but it wasn't neccessarily comforting either.
This place isn't going to make anyone's "Best Places to Stay Near Saint Louis" list, but if youa're looking for something cheap with a short commute to the city and just need a place to crash this should be fine.
