“Up To LQ Usual High Standards”

Last stop of our holiday. Have always liked La Quinta Inns/Suites and were well pleased with this hotel for the rate we paid. Seems to be on Trinity Uni campus with direct access from I 94.
The girl who checked us in was a bit sullen and of the 3 people who were milling around when we got there not one of them greeted us with a hello!! However:-
Lovely spacious top floor suite with separate living/sleeping areas.
Tasteful decor/furniture and massive workdesk with most comfortable reclining office chair I've ever rested my bottom on.
Nice comfy bed and big bathroom with oversize vanity. Shower was powerful with lots of constant hot water. The micro/fridge area would benefit from a sink.
Our suite was on southeast facing side and, whilst not directly overlooking the highway, the traffic noise was very noticeable. Earplugs recommended.
Breakfast area has plentiful seating and overlooks indoor pool. Usual breakfast fare plus waffle maker.
The hotel has a small convenience store which we used to buy some food one evening after a long, tiring day out in Chicago. It was pricey but were glad of it in this instance as the alternative would've been to take the car and go in search of a restaurant.
Good location for easy access to Chicago without car. Drive to Deerfield Station, park and catch MD-N Metra train to Union Station. Be aware, most of the parking spaces at the station are reserved for residents or fee paying but if you don't mind a 10ish minute walk there are lots of free on road spaces on Chestnut St north of Greenwood Ave.

“Supurb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

My husband and I went to Menominee Falls, WI for a College Dedication service. We chose to stay in the Bannockburn area because it was near a wellness facility that is associated wth a membership we hold at home. We were able to get a room at a very reasonable price and were very surprised at the overall uniqueness of the hotel. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted warmly and cheerfully by the clerk. He even changed us to a room in the back away from the noise of the expressway, so we enjoyed a very peaceful night's rest. The entie hotel was super clean-even the fitness room whih was accesible 24/7. My husband was able to get a workout after 11pm! Superb! place to stay! Also just one mile from a shopping center, groceries, etc.

“ADEQUATE STOP OVER POINT”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

I have stayed at this hotel 2x as a stop over point. I park around back and come in by the pool. The back is about 100m from I94 and is very loud from the traffic. 1st stay was just above the pool overlooking the interstate. No driving to find the place, it's 2 minutes off the interstae. Noise control is very good and I slept well. The 2nd was overlooking the entrance and was even better. Rooms are a bit dated (old style TV, no sink in kitchen area, worn looking room) and could use a makeover. Rooms are large and you do not feel crammed into it as you do other 1 room suite hotels that put furniture in as an after thought. Breakfast was standard (cereal, fruit, waffles, bagels) with a large eating area and large screen TV to view the morning news. Found a hair in the tub. I had the bathroom cleaned again before settling in. Overall, I was pleased and will stay again.

“Excellent hotel, convenient for Navy graduation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2010

We stayed here while in town for our son'd graduation from Navy Basic. The location is wonderful and the staff is top notch! This hotel has an indoor pool and jacuzzi which our kids loved (so did my husband and I!) The jacuzzi was wonderful to climb into after a long day touring Chicago. The pool and jacuzzi are open 24/7 so no worries about arriving late from site seeing. The breakfast lay out is fabulous and to the person who said it was "adequate", not sure where that person is used to staying or what they are used to getting for breakfast but the breakfast at this location is far more than adequate. They have everything from yogurts, to cereals, to danishes, to waffle makers, to eggs and fruit. Can't imagine what else it would take to make it awesome!!
The rooms at this location are very comfortable and the beds sleep very well. The only complaint I would have about them is that they are doubles instead of queens (in the 2 bed room that we stayed in).
Overall, for the amount we paid, we were very happy with this hotel. Other hotels in the area cost as much and offer much, much less. If you're going to Navy graduation, do your research and stay away from most of the hotels in Waukegan. They charge more (I'm assuming) for "convenience". This location is very convenient to the Navy base and you will not go wrong staying here.

We travelled to the Lake area for my sister's gratuation and this hotel fit the criteria for location and price. We did get more than we expected although people at the front desk could be more helpful at times
