“There is BLISS for everyone in the foothills of the Sawtooths at IRMR--no matter the age and no matter the interest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or the action of white water rafting, IRMR will satisfy the traveller with an eye for fine--fine dining, fine cabins, fine views, fine bedding, fine service and fine wine.  Every amenity is served up by a staff that is dedicated to making your stay not just memorable, but epic. Their local knowledge guarantees the answer to every "how do we..."  or "where can you...."  There is BLISS for everyone in the foothills of the Sawtooths at IRMR--no matter the age and no matter the interest.  We saw it in the joy of our five-year-old daughter after her first horse back ride, we witnessed it in her 18-year-old brother when he hiked to the peak of Elephant's Perch, we felt it in a deep tissue massage after a grueling mountain bike ride (on a path right on ranch property), and we basked in it with a soak in the hot spring-fed pool watching a comet shower under a mammoth sky.  Truly the best family vacation at the most divine venue we have had in the last decade.  There is no doubt we will return---again and again and again.

“Beautiful Location / Great Property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

We had a wonderful stay at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch. As with any property, there are some positives and negatives - but, without a doubt, we'd return!

Location - it's in the middle of nowhere, which is great! Views of the Sawtooth Mountains are right outside. If you are into lots of city type activity, this is not the place. If you are into relaxation and the beauty of nature, this is the place.
Rooms - we stayed in a cabin. It was nice, with good size and nice bath. Nights were chilly and I was somewhat worried about being able to stay warm. That wasn't a problem at all! Cabin had a great heater, in addition to fireplace.
Cleanliness - On the surface, Lodge was clean. As with most hotels, don't look behind the bed! Behind bed and corners of cabin could be cleaned just a bit more - however, you're in this beautiful and comfortable setting - for some reason, it didn't bother me quite as much.
Service - I'd rank service as good, not great. It would have been nice to have been escorted to our cabin, instead of just given keys and pointing cabin out to us. I expect this level of service at a luxury type property. In a lot of smaller properties like this, you get to know some of the staff. That didn't happen here at IRMR because we just didn't have that level of interaction with staff.
Food - All meals are included. Breakfast was great. Lunch was sandwich and was good (for lunch). We were there one evening for cast iron cook out dinner and it was OK - I didn't get it, because it seemed to have a spanish theme. I would have preferred good cowboy type cooking! We were there for one evening of their "fine dining" and it was great!!!
Sleep quality - Beds were great! Sleep was wonderful.
Other comments - this was really a unique type property, with lots of history. There was plenty to do, with great common room to relax, with lots of books and games. One thing was missing - a coffee pot in the room! This is an important thing to me. That would be a nice addition. Coffee was available in the main lodge at all times.
I know I've commented on some less-than-positives. Even with the ones mentioned, we'd return and we'd recommend this property to others, with enthusiasm!

One more note - there is a review of the IRMR that can't be reviewing this property. It talks about other things around the ranch - and there is NOTHING at this property except this little charming hotel/ranch. It states hotel is right in town - IRMR is in middle of nowhere. Review mentions microwave and coffee pot - IRMR rooms do not microwaves and coffeepots. Please disregard that review when looking at these reviews.

“Beautiful & Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

The Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is so scenic & the cabins are top of the line! The food (two meals a day) was restaurant quality but maybe not what kids would want if you have a family. The pool on the property is fed from a hot spring & we spent many an evening gazing at the stars! The Sawtooth Mountains were so worth the trip and the drive in is amazing! The satff was very friendly & helpful but it was pricey.

“It's ok for the money considering you dont have tons to choose from for a reasonable price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

The possitive is that the bed we slept on was comfortable.....I am always concerned about the mattress I'm sleeping on. It seemed to be a newer mattress.
The front desk was friendly...the carpet was stained, but vacuumed. Older Motel......The out side looks decent.
We stayed in the standard room with 2 queen beds, microwave, coffee pot and T.V only. Basic channels. It was $90. per night + tax. I thought the location was good, right in town......You get what you pay for..... It's "okay" for the money.... I did like that they had Laundry Facility there. Buy laundry soap at the front dest for $1. Gas, Grocery Strore, Restauraunt, right next door and across the street.

This was not the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch. By description of surrounding buildings and location, it appears that they stayed at the Mountain Village Resort located on Highway 21 in Stanley. The Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is located 9 miles south of Stanley on Highway 75.

“Beautiful Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

I went to the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch for the wedding of my friends Larry and Rachel. Her parents booked the whole place for the wedding party and their guests. The staff there was so nice. They led hikes, they gave great suggestions, and perhaps most importantly they made great meals. I bet more than 90 percent of the folks who were guests at the wedding end up back in Idaho for vacation some day because of this experience.
