We are from San Jose, CA. We planned a trip to Idaho for 5 days.
Pros:
We got a cabin, most cabins are attached to another one. It had nice comfortable beds, a fireplace, upgraded bathroom.
They have meals included in the room price which can be a good thing. The breakfast option was the best as we could order anything from the menu
Front desk/service was very good.
Cons:
No internet in any of the cabins, no telephone service outside Stanley so we couldn't make any calls from the bedroom.
There is no TV in the room. For the 450+ dollars we are paying, we did not get the best experience.
Lunch/dinner we ate out since it was mostly country style/barbeque and we are veggie lovers. You need to pack a sandwich for your lunch which they server during breakfast.
The last day, we were in a lodge room which was really outdated. The bathroom was small and there was a creepy looking attic staring back as we slept. Not worth for the price we were paying. We think its way too overpriced.
Location is ok, keep in mind, Stanley is a very small town, the nearest town flooded with people/restaurants in around 70 miles away (Ketchum,ID).
The drive around the area is not very scenic, we think Oregon/Wyoming is a lot better.
We won't be heading back to Idaho, we were not impressed, we love the country side even though we are from the big city, but everything was limited and we didn't feel happy with the stay. We wanted to leave sooner and get back home.
