“"Been here twice, great stay both times!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

Our family stayed in a double queen with a roll-away bed. The room had plenty of room for all our luggage and extras. The hotel location is ideally located walking distance to downtown and the beach, is two blocks from Safeway and the banks. Breakfast with muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereals, juices and coffee, waffles, etc... is served in the lobby every morning. Our kids favorite was the biscuits and gravy mornings! The very clean pool and hot tub were nice to have in addition to the lake. We actually had booked with another hotel months earlier for this trip and after having some customer service issues days before we left, we decided to book again with La Quinta. They made sure to have our roll-away bed already in the room and made up for us when we arrived on the early morning train (4am!). Again, we were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely stay here on our next trip.

“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

While we initially had trouble with a leaky toilet, the staff graciously corrected the problem. Staff were courteous and efficient.
Room was quiet; spa was great, and we plan to stay there again.

“I'm not sure there is a quiet side.”

The layout is very bizarre that the hotel is in 3 separate buildings, there is even a street separating buildings 2 and 3. Swimming pool was chilly, but sparkling clean. Breakfast had many choices and was very good. Parking was very limited. Connie's Restaurant had decent food and prices. Bar crowd was friendly and there was live music. The hallways were covered but open to the public, there were no doors! Anyone could walk off the street into the hallways and they did! Hallways smelled very moldy. We were woken up at 11:30pm and 12 AM by loud patrons. We called the front desk and it was quiet for about 30 minutes, the noise started back at about 12:30. Within the three blocks, there is a seedy little tavern facing US95. The sign in the door of that tavern announces that scumbags with umbrellas were not allowed. No joke. (no, I don't own an umbrella) If you're looking for some night life and a place to 'tie one on' then this place is a good choice. If you're looking for a quiet room to get a good night's sleep, you might want to go elsewhere.
The manager adjusted our price upon checkout but it was still way over-priced.

I apologize for your less than restful stay at our hotel in Sandpoint. We are located at the intersection of two highways and I agree it can be a busy area at times. The bypass will be complete next yr. and things will quiet down regarding traffic. We do have three seperate buildings as we were built in three phases over the years. The Tavern you are speaking of that is next door to our hotel is an old time orginal "loggers bar" in Sandpoint. It has alot of history and I'm sorry their sign was offensive to you. Knowing the people there, I'm sure they were trying to be humorous; they are good people and do many fund raisers for families in need. They are very giving and loving people. Thank you for your response though and giving me an opportunity to reply. We sincerely care about our guests and their comfort and it appears we failed on your part. Again our apologies.

“Great price, great location, very nice rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

Really happy with my stay for 1 night. Nice breakfast. Helpful & reasonable staff. Super close to shops & bars. Only issue was the hot tub jets were set so they were bubbling all over your head.

“The most dog-friendly hotel we've stayed at yet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

For those of you that travel with your dogs, you know what a pain it can be to find a hotel that not only accepts them, but doesn't tack on additional "pet fees." We stayed at the La Quinta for 6 nights over the xmas/new year holiday and had a great experience.

For starters, the hotel does not charge you extra for your dog--huge bonus considering we have two dogs. Secondly, the rooms were simple and tidy and included a microwave and fridge, another feature we love. Thirdly, the breakfast was pretty good considering it was "free." There was a lovely woman that managed the breakfast and went out of her way to bring homemade goodies each day and tried to mix up the options so that every day we had something a little different. Fourth, the hot tub was a nice bonus considering we were on a ski vacation, although I would have preferred it hotter. Fifth, the staff was super! And finally, the location was in walking distance to all of the shops & restaurants.

The hotel has three buildings, and my only negative comment is regarding the building that the front desk is located in. We were in that building our first two nights and it was very loud due to traffic noise. However, we asked to move rooms and ended up in the third building facing the park which was very quiet.

We would certainly stay again.
