“Good value for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2010

Several years ago this hotel was a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are very large and usually have a lounge chair and writing desk. Room and bathroom are very clean.
Morning breakfast consists of biscuits and gravy, waffles, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, and assorted bread and pastries. Coffee, cookies, and PB&J sandwiches are available in the evening.
There is a wide variation in room price, so if possible, do some searching for the best price.
Front desk staff is not overly friendly, but don't seem rude.
Motel is about 1/2 mile from the nearest restaurant.

“Typical Comfort Inn, but make sure you have a conformation number”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

The place was fine. Clean, quiet, good bed, etc. WiFi worked (not always the case with Comfort) and breakfast was restocked as things ran out. But when we arrived there was no record of my reservation, and as I hadn't made a note of the conformation number (why should that matter, as it's all by internet?) it took 15 minutes to get a room and check in. Odd, given that there might have been 20 rooms occupied in the place. Why not just shrug and say, "Sorry I can't find it. What would you like?" The morning clerk was a lot more cheerful.

“RUDE FRONT DESK!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2010

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Post Falls, ID in July on a driving trip across the USA. I stopped in at about 7PM and the front desk person was very rude. He used some coarse slang words that were very offensive, especially since he is the "face" of the company by representing them at the front desk. The kids were so tired and cranky I decided to stay anyway, but really wish I'd kept going on to another town before stopping for the night. We paid $119 for a room that was supposed to be non-smoking but smelled like there had been smokers there, as did the hallway. Also, the room was on the 2nd floor and they didn't have an elevator. Had I known that I DEFINITELY would have gone someplace else. The next day we were driving on east on I-90 and saw just a few miles further signs for places that were only half of what we paid there! During the remainder of our 4500 mile trip, if I saw the name "Comfort Inn" I kept going. On the positive side: the breakfast was good, the first floor common areas were very clean and the morning staff seemed to be more pleasant than the one on the evening shift.

“Good for a stopover, not a long stay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

We stayed here based on a recommendation and reviews on Tripadvisor but were disappointed. The rooms are small, the beds are small, and the amenities few. The breakfast was ok - pretty standard fare. There are a couple of smoking rooms upstairs and unfortunately, the entire hall smells like cigarette smoke. The walls are thin and any traffic in the hallway is loud. My husband was very disappointed to find out that the athletic club pass that they offer in lieu of their own workout room is for a place in Coeur d'Alene, 6 miles down the highway! Especially considering that there is a gym just around the corner. Unlike the previous reviewer, we did not have any trouble with the front desk. They were always friendly and helpful. However, I would not stay here again.

“Rude and pushy desk clerk -- look elsewhere!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

We decided NOT to stay at this hotel, due to the unbelievable pushy rudeness of the desk clerk (Rick) at the time of check-in. I questioned the high pet fee, and asked if there was any negotiation on that. He said, "Take it or leave it." I chose to leave it, and walked out of the hotel back to my vehicle. There was another guest checking in behind me, and he indicated he would pay the pet fee. Here's the weird part: before Rick even took care of the next guest, he followed me out to my vehicle, and told me I was stupid for not taking the room at the rate he quoted! He said I could check all over town and I'd find out every motel charges the same (no, they don't!), and still he would not leave me alone, after I told him no thank you several times. He then tried to bargain with me for the room rate and the additional guest (a coupon I had was fr one person only) and the pet fee. I told him I felt I was at a flea market, and I would not bargain anything with him, and again (third or fourth time), I told him to leave me alone. He then said, as he slapped his hand on the fender of my car, that I should look for a Motel 6 to stay in, I wasn't up to the standards of a Comfort Inn guest.
