“Jacuzzi room advertised as Non Smoking is false advertising. Beware”

Our Jacuzzi Room #213 at this Hampton Inn in Mountain home was terrible! While I booked a non smoking room (which the front desk confirmed) we received a room that had an awful Oder.
The room smelled badly of smokers.
I contacted Jessica at the front desk immediate and there were no other rooms with a Jacuzzi at the establishment, and since my wife and I had no bathing suites, for the other guest jacuzzi, we elected to try to tough it out. Also note I asked Jessica to come smell the room which she did not.

This was my birthday and was to be a special occasion. Jessica offered a free movie (which had a horrible picture) and 50% off and some Frabreze to spray to help with the smell.
I said ok as this was better than nothing. and I was just tired of the whole fiasco at that point.
However the smoke lingering in the room caused a very bad headache after sleeping / being subjected to it / for such a long period. All of our clothes had the cigarette smell in the morning also.
I noted the in room movie that was allowed would have cost $15.99 for a terrible picture but since it was at no charge and I wanted to try and enjoy my Birthday with my Wife.
We didn't want to spend all evening on the phone with the front desk, then be disturbed by yet another "maintenance man" we just put up with it.
50% off with a movie we could not see does not make up for the Birthday Memory we would have enjoyed had the hotel delivered what we booked in the first place.

I ask you, who would want to spend $120 on a room then, be disturbed the few awake moments you were there? Horrible experience but the breakfast was good, would have been better had I not had the cigarette headache.

Note the other channels on the television were fine.
Just the Pay $15.99 for a movie was a horrible picture.

Room Tip: If your a smoker this hotel is for you. For the rest of us, choose another hotel.

“Nice Place for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

Hampton Inn always offer clean comfortable rooms. This one seemed newer so it was in good condition and has queen beds. Breakfast is the same as all Hamptons, Continental Plus - they offer a few hot options besides the normal carb, fruit, beverage.

“Quiet stay on a busy highway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

If you're traveling through I-84 and want to avoid the chaos of Boise, Mountain Home is a good place to stop for the night. In the past, however, the hotel choices were limited and the older hotels there have seen better days. We were thrilled to see they had a Hampton Inn there. Right off the freeway and near a few restaurants, the hotel was all we expect from Hampton Inn. One pleasant addition was how quiet the hotel was. Being right off the highway we slept peacefully with no outside noise. The only complaint I would have is that we were in a connecting room and we could hear every word spoken in the room next to ours. Otherwise, it's a great place for weary travelers to stop for the night.

“Great value, spotless and newer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

I just read the review from someone in August who--besides not being able to spell--complained about everything. We had the total opposite experience, September 8th 2011. On a road trip from Seattle to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Arrived around 5pm and were checked in smoothly, given a spotless, newer style room (very nicely renovated) with zero road noise. Flat screen TV, very comfy bed, nice linens, clean bathroom, mini fridge. What more do you expect for $120 night? It was way nicer than our expectation. Until the morning, when the breakfast blew us away! Since it was included in the room charge, we were expecting the standard, lousy stale Costco muffin or oddly plastic-tasting danish, hard apples in a bowl, a lone hard boiled egg artifical oragne juice substitute and acidic coffee. This place blew us away. Nice buffet with the BEST bacon ever--thin and crispy and the leanest I have ever seen--previous reviewer--you are really weird if you dont like crisp, lean bacon. Eggs, sausage nice bagel assortment, hard boiled eggs, 4 kinds of juice and excellent quality coffee. Hey--we are from Seattle--of course we are coffee picky. Best of all--a WAFFLE MAKER!! Who would have expected this for a free breakfast? We feel this was a super value. Very nice staff, very clean, modern facility and rooms and a great, FREE breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Are all Hampton Inns this nice now? I haven't stayed at one in a long time. Great job Mountain Home Hampton Inn.
