This Express is on the far southeastern corner of Meridian, just off of Eagle road. The Eagle Road interchange is currently under construction, but the hotel is fairly easy to get to - just head north, turn left on E St. Luke's Rd right across from the hospital, look out for the two way stop at E Magic View Dr., and then you're right at Gentry where the hotel is.
Our room was a first floor king, that was very clean. All the HI Express amenities are there, down to the hair conditioner that smells like cinnamon rolls! High Speed wireless internet performed as advertised most of the time... with a little down time in the evenings (not sure why.) We actually spent a LOT of time in the room on this trip, and were very pleased with the hotel's service. The front desk folks were informative and helpful.
Note that the housekeeping and breakfast staff speak VERY little english, so a few phrases like "mas toalles, por favor" (more towels, please) are handy to have on hand. When I asked the woman at breakfast for some bread, she looked at me blankly. I ended up pulling the grocery store ad out of the paper and pointing at a loaf of bread, and she smiled and said, "oh! Pan!"... and promptly found me two slices of bread!
The indoor pool is heated and well sound-proofed. Although our room was right across the hallway, we didn't hear the eight kids playing in it.
We'll definitely recommend this property to our friends and probably stay there on future trips.
