We have stayed here several times before and really don't have any major complaints. However, we came across something this trip that has me a bit miffed. We pulled into this hotel about 7:00 p.m. to see if there was a room available. The person at the front desk said that there were only a couple rooms left and gave us the prices. We told her that we would take a room and asked what the rate would be with either our AAA or AARP cards. She told us that, since the hotel was nearly full, they wouldn't give us either the AAA or AARP discount rate. This seemed odd to us because we didn't see that many cars parked outside. It seemed to us that this is an easy way to do away with discounts because we have no way of knowing if they were, in fact, full. I will be talking to AAA to check into this.
The woman at the front desk was not exactly friendly. We noticed that she was also working in the morning when we went down for breakfast, so it may be that she was just sleep deprived; however, she could have been a bit more pleasant.
The hotel room was clean; however, they could stand to do some renovating. Our sink had a crack in it and the general appearance was beginning to look worn. Also, every one of our pillows was lumpy. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Internet was a bit slow, but I was able to get my work done.
There is another HIE just down the road that we will probably try out next time we go through Boise.
